    Restoring a '76 Rickenbacker 4001

While this is sorta off topic, I figured I'd chime in. Jesse F. Keeler's '79 white-with-black-binding Ric is the best bass I've ever seen and I would kill to have one like it. Looks perfect. And it sounds so great when it shines through on the recordings (think the Romantic Rights EP). I'm...

    Gallien Krueger 700iiRB Racking Question

If you're set on getting the tuner/power conditioner, I'd still try to put the amp at the top...some cases (like the SKB one I have) have a little bit of extra space at the top. I personally do leave 1u open for my 1001RBII and I'm under the impression that it's a pretty good idea.

SOLD Old Epifani 2x10. Pre-NYC old.

Does anyone have any more info on this cab? Or a link to the previous thread? I've spent some time with Google and I can't seem to figure out anything about this cab or the speakers inside it.

Help me find a Cab! (V4BH content)

You thinking of buying used? Just my two cents (based on owning an Avatar 410 and the Deltalite/Deltalite II stats)...that Avatar might not overdrive well. From what I've seen, the Deltalite neo drivers really fall off at around 4k (someone can correct me if I'm wrong) and the tweeter takes...

    Best Big Muff clone?

Yup. Don't touch the circuit board unless money really isn't an issue. I guess the one question I have for you would be, have you tried a lot of other muffs and then decided that the original green Russian was the best? Muff-circuited pedals grow on Trees these days and you can't walk into...

    Pedalboard nightmare!

I bought a used pedalboard from Rock Solid Pedalboards (Link Removed ... mine's the RS-24) for around $90 and it's amazing...very similar in construction to a 'board from NYC pedalboards. Quick-release latches. I use a T-Rex Engineering Fuel Tank Jr., which powers five pedals, and it works...

Yanking the Tweeter/Crossover on an Avatar

Yeah I'm thinking about what to do with this, but I think I just might pass it on to the next TB'er whose needs it suits a little better. And I'll pay a little more attention next time. If anyone has any other advice, or recommendations on what cab I should get, I'd love to hear it.

Is that $1400 shipped conus? Was it a *factory* blem? If so, is it stamped anywhere indicating that fact (like a lot of factory 2nds are)? Or was it just scratched/dented/whatever at the store.

Picture of the crossover/highpass assembly. Seems simple enough. Seems like the thread is concluding that removing the tweeter won't help anything, but if it turns out that removing the tweeter will help, I'd love to know where the best places to desolder are. [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

Yanking the Tweeter/Crossover on an Avatar

Just theoretically, could one do a high pass over to guitar drivers? I've also heard of people using PA/monitor speakers, might that work? I don't really have plans to DO either of those things, I'm just curious. Feedback for that on its way as well. Can't seem to find a PDF for the...

Yanking the Tweeter/Crossover on an Avatar

Well than I guess I unfortunately have a two-way cab. Those are for stock Eminence Deltalite II's, whereas mine has the ones that were customized for Avatar. Probably not that much different though. The site says that the cap on the 'useful' range of the Deltalite II's is around 4k, but when...

Yanking the Tweeter/Crossover on an Avatar

Thanks for posting! I was beginning to think that I was completely crazy. My cab has the Avatar version of the old Eminence Deltalite II's, to the best of my knowledge (haven't popped any of them out yet though). While I never was able to find any stats for this specific driver, it seemed to...

Yanking the Tweeter/Crossover on an Avatar

Is this simply characteristic of the Avatar drivers? Again, the vast majority of the cabs I've played get a LOT more highs. For example, the stack sits next to my Acoustic B200 single-15", which gets plenty of fuzzy highs (maybe it would help if I posted some clips)...but when the tweeter is...

Yanking the Tweeter/Crossover on an Avatar

Yeah. That's what I'm trying to do, but that already appears to be done in the cab, with the tweeter wired in addition to that. Thanks for the input...I'm sorry I wasn't clear. I want to have a lot of highs but when I'm using distortion all the highs come from the tweeter and it sounds pretty...

Standard, used-but-not-abused Dunlop 105Q wah. Adjustable volume and Q values. Pressure-on. As you can see in the pictures, there is velcro on the bottom from being on my pedalboard, and the rubber feet have been removed (but I will include them). I do have the original box / flier but it's...

Yanking the Tweeter/Crossover on an Avatar

I recently (yesterday) got my hands on an older Avatar cab (circa 2007). Sounds pretty good, and this cab is LOUD. It's a 4ohm 410NEO, and judging by the age, I've gathered that it has a first or second order highpass with an l-pad and then the tweeter. Well, obviously, even with the l-pad...

    Bass overdrive.

I'm fairly sure (though this knowledge is dating back to a time when I listened to more Tad, I haven't listened to them in forever...and that was a while ago) that the bassist used a Hiwatt guitar amp that was somehow modded for bass, though not that heavily modded. I'm pretty sure it was a...

Wimpy Amp Owners Need Cool FX,Too!!

Sure, buying a multi-effects unit is probably the most *responsible* thing to do... But if I can make a suggestion, Buy A dirtbox of some kind. Preferably something that gets pretty distorted. I had my first amp for about a year before I bought my first effect, and let's just say, when that...

NEWBIE - Help me choose a 4 String

As mentioned above, you might want to at least *try* a Fender jazz, if you haven't already. Also, you might want to try out a few basses to figure out if you'd prefer active or passive electronics. If you want recommendations on what basses to try out based on looks, you'll have to describe a...

If you $1200 left on MF card and needed a bass

There's lots to be said for the fretted jazz. I'd say that a fretted USA would be a great first choice. If you want something a little different (and with active electronics) I would go for a musicman.

Is this the GCB-95 wah (the one that's listed as the 'original crybaby wah' on the Dunlop site)? Do you have pictures? Just to be clear, what did you do to extend the range? How well would you say it works with bass now? I'm looking for a push-on wah to replace my 105Q so consider me interested.

Nooo...the 610 is a 4ohm cab and the 3pro can't take less than a 4ohm load. You can't add any sort of cab without dropping the total load below 4ohms. Edit: RickenBoogie beat me to it.

What's the impedance on the cabinet / drivers? I saw your other ad in the accessories forum and I have an empty sealed 4x10 around, so I was considering making an offer on them. Could go over a couple trades but it'd be a long shot.
