Yes, I agree about Spackle. I use wood filler. You might want to sand the wood filler pretty well and maybe a light coat of primer. Un- sanded wood filler can get mighty slick. PL adhesive gets very slick as well.

The Recex screws I have, will go all the way through the front mounted speaker's holes and stick out about 1/2" into the inside of the cab. Will this be less strong? Should the screw just be long enough to into the baffle board or is all the way through, OK ???

I think Dura-Tex recommends using "Spackle" for a filler.

No matter what they use onstage, most have a DI to the board as well. Seems like most of the backline I see at concerts, or on T.V. seem to be SVT's. I'll have to start looking for Hartke's.

What IF you used TWO different heads with mis matched cabs? Would that negate some of the problems with mixing driver sizes?? So really just two, totally different amps running at the same time.

Detuned cab's are in the common vernacular and have been around for years in guitar cabs--usually running a 4x12...with only 2 12's. Makes it sound like an open back cab...works for a guitar amp.:bassist:

I got a new Eminence 3015 in the original box. When I moved it around last night, I heard a "click" sound....does anything supposed to click or shuffle around when you move them???

Yeah, I saw that people had Duratex on the board, so I knew they must have been doing SOMETHING. So just keep it super smooth in that area and it should be OK.....Thanks!

I don't know, if the speaker doesn't bolt perfectly flat to the board, it might be big trouble.????

King's X is my favorite band---so if you roll the lows off, you can use a guitar amp for the mids and highs without blowing the speakers, and just run a bass amp for the lows? I think Tom Peterson (Cheap Trick)and Entwhistle (Who) did the same sort of thing, right?

If you Duratex the baffle board, does it mess up the speaker gaskets or do you not put it under there??? Thanks! JIMO

ON the Tl606---It looks like the plan just shows this board at 2/1/2 inches long, but all the pictures of peoples cabs have it extended much deeper into the cab??? What is the deal??..(I am using the Emenence 3015 ...no (LF)).

It is a B-15N...It has a 15" Blue Ampeg Speaker. I will get some pics to put over there in the club. I would like to know what year it was made.

I cut this out with a skill saw...I have a table saw, but it is buried under a bunch of stuff..hahaha..So...it could have been more precise....hopefully it will work. .I have an old Ampeg Portaflex B-15...BTW...it is pretty beat up, but sounds good. I noticed you were endorsed by them. Great Amp!!

Great!, Thanks, I glued the cab together today and used finish nails, just driven in halfway, so I could get them out.....screws might have been better, and just backed them out. The nails seems to have worked though, I'll check it out tomorrow. Thanks again!!!

Using 1/2"..with cross bracing..How do you screw it together with no corner bracing and still miss the screws with your round over bit?
