Billy Sheehan in the Winery Dogs

I really like Sheehan's tone, and his whole way of playing, and I believe the Winery Dogs is the perfect combo, I mean, Kotzen is just as awesome as it gets, his voice sounda great, his tone is pretty cool too, but what I like the most about him, is that he is able to find a way to put some jazz...

Muse - Time is Running Out

That does sound close to it... And I'm starting to be pretty sure this conversation will end up hurting my wallet.

Muse - Time is Running Out

I wanted to, but as it turns out, I guess it's not that easy.

Muse - Time is Running Out

yea, the problem is that I am in a Muse specific cover band, as you mentioned, so I have to worry with this kind of thing, otherwise, I'd just play the notes too.

Muse - Time is Running Out

Well, I just think that, if you ser a thread that does not interest you, don't take part in it. You're not being forced to answer this, and we were all having a healthy conversation here. I'm pretty sure there are answers here that weren't on the already existing threads, here or in other...

Muse - Time is Running Out

You couldn't be more wrong. What proves that this was a actually good topic, is that I've read many methods of trying to achieve the same sound, and a lot of them sound really alike. I can surely say, that I have learned more here, than I could ever do on google pr youtube (believe me, i tried)...

If they did "It Might Get Loud" with bassists

I'm noticing that everybody (including me) has forgotten about nikki sixx, he may not be a great technical bassist, but he is a hell of a songwriter. So, I would include him... I mean, the guy kinda nailed the 80s right ?

    basses to consider

I honestly prefer Yamaha, for the 5-stringers

what do you make of this fender?

That neck is definetely not a Fender, nor Squier. It's way to weird for 300 bucks.

Muse - Time is Running Out

I'm trying to mimic his live tone. I've been doing what's been said before, using a synth, and then switching to any fuzzy kind of effect in the heavier parts, I've also read somewhere that it's a keyboard, but I choose not to believe that it's the only way.

What do you think about while you are gigging.

Honestly, I think about what are the other band members thinking about. I really try to figure out what's on their mind, mostly, to know if they're going to try something different. The nice thing about that, is that, sometimes, it works. There have been times when I looked at the singer or the...

Source Audio Sourcerers Society (S.A.S.S.) Pt 2

I have recently bought HH3 and BEF, but I'm still quite getting the hang of it. The bad side, though, is that I live in Brazil, so, if I have any technical difficulties, such as the one mentioned above, I'll need at least a week to ship it back to USA, wait for it to get repaired and shipped...

Muse - Time is Running Out

That's quite a tone, but I think I can achieve something like that with the pedals I own right now... Well, at least I hope so.

Muse - Time is Running Out

Guess i'll just have to stop playing then. Hahahaha

If they did "It Might Get Loud" with bassists

I agree with the idea of three bassists of different generations, so I would have to go with my favourites: John Paul Jones, for being a member of Led Zeppelin, and therefore, a legend. Then, for the "middle generation" I'd go with Flea, because "It Might Get Loud" is all about Rock, and Flea...

Muse - Time is Running Out

I believe i can achieve something similar using my Big Muff, and my boss SYB-5, but I can't quite figure out the setup. Do you think it may be done with these effects? And, since I am in a Muse Cover band, I've been playing only with the BM, as said above, and it does sound nice, yet I'd like...

    Most aggressive bass tone?

Yeah, I actually forgot about Lemmy. He definetely should be on top of that list, leaving Sheehan in 2nd place.

    Most aggressive bass tone?

I'd have to go with Billy Sheehan, in the song Desire (or Elevation, could be too), by the Winery Dogs.

Muse - Time is Running Out

Hey, I'm new here, and I would really appreciate if you could help me figure out the "Time is Running Out" bass effect. I'm aware that Chris uses an Akai synth, but that's extremely hard to find, and expensive. My set of pedals is composed by: Boss SYB-5 synth, Big Muff Distortion, Steel...

Billy Sheehan in the Winery Dogs

I wanted to share my opinion with you, and hear some of your own, about Billy Sheehan in general, and his new band, the Winery Dogs, with the equally awesome Ritchie Kotzen and Mike Portnoy. IMHO i liked them a lot together, I think they fit perfectly for the style they're playing, and that...
