I played a gig in a barn that had a WICKED resonance on my A string (or 5th fret E etc) - moving even a half-step off of A either up/down was better, a full step and the resonance was gone. Could the Para EQ have helped attenuate this narrow resonance? If so, what would be the on-the-fly steps...

The string buzzes when pressed down between the nut and the first fret (it's buzzing against the 2nd fret) - so, unless I'm missing something, I don't think the height of the nut slot will affect this.

Yes - the neighbors do not noticeably buzz on the first fret unless plucked hard. I consider them OK. It's the D first fret buzz that will bug me forever. Can I assume this quality is not typical for a new Mikro?

My HB-30 measures 44 1/4" length (& 12 1/2" wide); the length is a little longer than most short scale basses which makes cases a challenge. Sigh.

HB-30 case quest: The Fender F610 gig bag fits well length-wise but is perhaps a little too roomy width-wise. The pocket is a little tight and an odd shape so enough room for a cord and neck strap - but that's about it. Has reasonable padding. I give it a "B". Still looking for a solid case...
