Fender Player Mustang PJ Bass Hard-Shell Case & Gig Bag Options

I am looking to for hard-shell case & gig bag options for my Fender Player Mustang PJ Bass. A quick Google search will point out the obvious Fender FBSS-610 Short Scale Bass Gig Bag or the
Fender Mustang Bass Guitar Case. From doing a little research it doesn't seem like the gig bag as much storage room and price point for the hard case seem a little steep.

In a Facebook group dedicated to Fender Mustang Basses, a popular hard shell frequently recommended by one or two of the same people is the SKB 1SKB-62 Jaguar/Jazzmaster Case. I'm currently waiting for an email from Sweetwater to confirm this would be a certified fit. The price though a little more than I'd like to pay is more realistic than that of the aforementioned Fender Mustang Bass Guitar Case.

Can anyone recommend alternative options based on experience?

I use a "Gator GC-Elec XL Deluxe ABS Molded Extra Long Guitar Case" as I didn't want to carry around a full size 34" bass case. My Mustang PJ *just* fits. You may end up de-tuning the G string slightly to align the tuner so it fits in the case (my tuning position just happens to be OK); I may have removed a little bit of case "stuffing" near the tuner - I forget. While the case is a bit heavy it no doubt protects very well.

Side note: Too bad this case isn't 1/2" longer - it would be THE hard case for the Mustang Bass. Amazes me that a case manufacturer hasn't made one specifically for this bass - there must be thousands out there and they would own the market.

PS - there are lots of threads on Mustang Bass cases. Here's a good one.
