The adhesive may be deteriorating partially, though. it will get leakier with time. Just trying to enjoy it while it lasts.

Well ordinary speakers are designed, as Downunders says, not to do that, so adding weight to a design like that is pointless. They will "ideally" remain rigid regardless and resist all mechanical coupling. This cabinet is exactly the opposite of that.

OK. I had to dedicate all my energy to school for a while. They were going to take away my freeschool money. I also passed physics II with an A- at Umass Boston so can describe the stuff a little better. It performs best under coupling with a mas. I put 110 or so pounds of lifting weights on...

Additionally, but not related to the present cab, I got a jumbo art laminator off the Craigslist. I was thinking it would allow me to skin panels pretty nice cuz it vacuum forms. Came with a beefy vacuum pump to run it.

Mr. Horse, you are the person saying it doesn't work. =( All you said is 'your data is invalid' and I won't even look at a free app you recorded it with because I already believe it to be inferior software. I understand the need for valid data, but you gotta help me out here if you want it...

There is no hold average function. There are several options for the audio. I encourage you to download the app and try generating a curve of your own with a frequency sweep and also to look into the settings pane. Spectroid is incredibly easy to use and I would be able to make more...

That's what the hold max feature does, though. You are asking me to reinvent the wheel when I already have a free, working digital wheel.

To illustrate my point, this is the max hold for playing all notes on my bass individually (as opposed to a traditional frequency sweep). Only look at the red line. The yellow line (again) was the instantaneous background sound when the image was screen-shotted.

Help me finish my polystyrene cab build

ehhh ...definitely a hard no on that one. If I turn off the hold max, how will I record the frequency sweep? The yellow output line of the graph is an instantaneous output. It measures only the sound in the room at the moment I screenshot the app. If I don't use the hold feature, the graph...

So you'd have me run the test again at a considerably lower volume to see if I get a similarly shaped curve. I would be happy to do it at many volumes on the same graph, however the app doesn't output the actual data in a format I can import into excel to plot in such a fashion. I will...

Spectroid has a hold max capability. I swept 20-20,000hz on it at roughly half of full volume.on the Pyle. the red line is that sweep. The yellow was a note on the bass at far lower volume. This was just the beta 12a. I have no baseline for comparing this graph to anything. There are...

The key difference between Mike's cab and mine is all the walls and corners are braced. Additionally, the interior of the front is fully laminated with ply and the baffle is gasketed on. Also no fiberglass as it would (I hypothesized) deaden the cabinet acoustically.
