However I...

What Are The "Must Have" Pedals?

i went three decades and this is sad really , but the way the world is looking , those three decade were the most successful and i NEVER even had tuner out front (pedal) i fondly refered to the attitude and method as "PLUG N CHUG" bass player or playing .im sure your wondering ... why sad...

What the hell did I buy?

Do Stingrays have the infamous dead spot??

by the way i bet it is due the fact your bass is a lefty and the way the strings allign over the coils and posts

Do Stingrays have the infamous dead spot??

well i thought initially i was loosing my mind or sump and the guys in my band thought i was just hating on the bass because they know how i dislike the shape (top horn out to 12 fret w/strap button) and i do after 40 years of playing mostly gibson basses live. have a world of difficulty with...

    SG & EB Bass Club

i made this one from a gifted EB-) that had head stock broken off ... its a 24 fret fretless neck which was also a gift .. which i had to repair fretboard that was delaminating and so i yanked frets inserted slivers of white ash and kept going also added set of vintage dimarzio p-bass pickups...

Do Stingrays have the infamous dead spot??

im not sure about dead "spots" however i found the entire "G" string to be deadish , by this i mean even when using compressor the string as a whole is/was dynamically inferior to the other three , i popped pickups and pushed posts up a little bit and it helped but now 6 - 8 months later ...

Just Some Thoughts/My Experience With Gibson Basses - Not a Gibson Bashing Thread!

i have not always been a Gibson guy but i morphed into one at a very young age and im not exactly sure the true reason . I think its the was they "hang" while playing which to me is far more comfy at a lower , more "attitude" type position , which we all know when playing rock-n-roll it a key...

i had similar issue with EB-0 i was gifted with headstock snapped off , i happened to also be gifted a funky delaminating 24 fret neck i started whittling on neck and body to marry them just to make interesting wall hanger but it ended up seeming to tune and play well so i really went into...

BTW the fludelouve looking thing at tail of bass is actually functional spacer i made out of skill saw skid plate to get the bridge which came off 1980 explorer , up high enuff to actually use the bass .... the shape or design was just out boredom and at that point i really thought it was going...

i myself love the EB cobalt rounds on thunderbird and stingray and les paul basses which are my top 3 favs and btw the spare {old} strings that are chewing up the fretless are cobalts ... they sound awsome but damaging with my playing style to the fretless monster i created

i recently de-fretted a old neck i had laying around forever , i was really just experimenting but ended up all into it and came out surprisingly nice so i bolted it to another piece of laying around wood which was an Epi EB-0 bass that had head stock broken off of it and wow it actually played...
