I like flats, but they don't fit my current playing situation well. My 'other' choice is broken in GHS Boomers. They bring the thump, up the clarity and aggressiveness, and are easier on my fingers for 3 hour sets. "Oh, no! They went 'all the way dead' so now they just sound more like flats"

I had a similar experience with the adjustments of 04-24... Wish I still had that GK 810SBX cab, I like my basses better now and I finally got over 'flat eq syndrome'. I like the non-stress of just playing for fun and not worrying about making it or other life choices. Welcome :)

I do play the GK212 and can confirm 1. it can be found for much less than the Mesa and 2. it thumps. Incidentally, since OP is worried about mixing cabs, I mix my GK212 with a 115 from the same series.
