Hey everyone,
I put together a full demo of my Hils HZB4 and wanted to share it here since I don't see a lot of content on this bass floating around.
The video is structured in three sections:
1. Soundcheck — a quick run through all pickup configurations so you can hear the tonal range of the...
"You may have seen him playing bass as a sideman with (but not limited to): Pomplamoose, Scary Pockets, Charlie Puth, Vulfpeck, Meghan Trainor, Raquel Rodriguez, Nigel Hall, Josh Smith, Kirk Fletcher, Lunchmoney Lewis, Michael Mayo and Moonchild and as a leader (or co-leader) with the bands...
Now that I have recording capabilities, I decided to go for maximum punishment, and took a crack at laying down some Joe Dart-style groove. Haven't sat down and tried to lift this song properly (besides the general grooves of the A and B sections), so this is really more of me just doing a...
Dean Town is one of the most famous and loved bass lines of recent years. A song certainly not easy to play but I tried it too and this was the result!
And so I succumbed to the temptation to do a cover of Dean Town by Vulfpeck... but wow what a gorgeous bass line! Here is my version played with a Fender Precision American Performer in single coil mode. I hope it is
at least decent!
This a thread for all things EBMM Joe Dart Signature.
The bass was released March 2019 on the vulf website and at the moment is only available for the month of March. No word from EBMM if this will be produced after the month of March.
The basses are likely to ship at the end of Summer 2019...
Inspired by Vulfpeck's version of Poinciana performed on Talkbox, here's my take on an arrangement of the Christmas Waltz by the Lettermen I grew up listening to. Ho ho ho.
Hi all,
I heard this track from Vulfpeck called, 'A Walk to Remember' from their Vollmilch EP and Joe Dart's bass tone just blew my mind. I've been trying to emulate it using a mid-heavy EQ setting (with boost around the 300-350 Hz) and a Darkglass VMT. I have the EQ tone locked down good but I...
Hey Everyone!
looking for a chords chart for it gets funkier for my band so we can attempt to be as funky as vulfpeck, no need for the bass line ive already learnt that!
Cheers!
This has been all over my news feeds this week, so here's a transcription - lots of nice funk vocabulary to steal from the solo...

Just a bass-head PSA.
I just picked up a new self-released Vulf album on their website.
Got a Bootsy collab to boot.
Anyways, disregard if it's been mentioned already.
Great stuff!
I've recently been really digging some Vulfpeck, and Joe Dart's playing is tremendous. I am more of a rock/metal/country style player, but I am interested in expanding out and learning some finger-style funk method. Any books out there that are recommended for an advanced player just wanting...
A new video of Joe Dart soloing dropped two days ago and I can't figure out quite how he's getting the little trill like sound between the 0:06 and 0:08 second marker. It sounds almost like it's a fretless vibrato, but the bass is definitely fretted. I've tried trills and bends, but I'm just not...
I'm very much a beginner at transcription. I've spent most of my practice time working on technique and harmonic concepts like scales and chord tones and not much on songs. I realized recently that this was a big hole in my playing, so I've been trying to work on it more.
However, I feel like...
Fantastic set from Vulfpeck w special Guest: Zigaboo Modeliste on Cissy Strut, 16-12 and Use Me Up. Joe Dart killed all night but check the Beastly Vid for some killer slap....

I had the pleasure of seeing Joe Dart and the rest of Vulfpeck on night two of a sold out pair of shows at the legendary First Avenue in Minneapolis last night. I learned a couple things while there:
Joe Dart is a monster. We all know this but seeing him live just smacks you upside the head...
So I've been obsessed with Vulfpeck's "Dean Town" for a couple of weeks now and have been trying to learn to play it, but I can't sustain the sixteenth notes at speed without my plucking hand tensing up causing me to slow down too much. I can play sixteenth notes at 90 BPM pretty evenly for...
My musical tastes seemed to have stopped around 1980. Maybe to rescue me, my nephew sent me this video. It starts out with just repetitive 16th notes, but then it starts to get interesting. Check out the double stop in measure 25. Measure 30 features a great chromatic line and a natural...
Just thought I'd post s a few demos I've done over the past year or so... Please let me know what you think. Thanks

Here you go guys, my "transcribtion" of Dean Town from Vulfpeck. Perhaps someone will find it useful.
98% of the notes are correct, hence my "transcribtion" thing.
:)
These are not my videos, but I was lucky enough to be there with my wife as the show happened to overlap with our NYC trip. They had loads of guests, including a second guitar player and a percussionist from their last album, sax/keyboard player and vocalist Joey Dosik, several other horn...

eta: "My First Car" at 21:45 features bassist Joe Dart, as does "Beastly" at 42:55. A must see-Mr. Dart is a player.
I'm sure I am not the only one here who can't sight read. I wanted to pass this on and help some of you save time. I used youtuber 'ben golding bass' transcription for this song so credit goes to him. Anybody else have any Vulfpeck songs written out? Would love to learn more.
