1 2x10 and 1 4x10 makes sense ?

I like using a 6x10 rather than a 4x10 and 2x10 stacked because to my ear, the larger internal cabinet volume of a 6x10 produces a sound that I prefer compared to the two smaller boxes added together. I'm not sure of the science behind it, but the single cabinet design tends to sound more coherent and richer to me. I'm sure I'll be corrected by someone out there. Just my two cents. I keep my 6x10 for large or outdoor gigs and a badass 2x10 for everything else.

It will definitely sound a bit different, since even within the same brand and product line (i.e., Eden XLT), the internal volumes and tuning will be different.

Interestingly, I typically hear the 610 cab within a product line as a bit more punchy and aggressive, due I think to typically less internal volume per driver than the 410/210 combination. However, +1 to your point that most 210 x 2 stacks don't sound identical to their 'within brand 410' product, and similar with the 610 versus the 4ohm 410/8ohm 210 stack within product line.

I'm with you conceptually. I use a 4ohm 410 for my large gigs, and a smaller 212 cab (or 115 cab) for my smaller gigs, versus going modular.
 
A do like the 2 x 210 idea, but the whole comb filtering thing when in the context of bass backline has been WAY overstated by some on this site.
I do agree with you to a certain extent. I think if you're talking about an 810 or 410, no, comb filtering probably isn't important at all. But if you want to have one of these rigs with like 4 810's, or a rig where you put an amp on either side of the drummer, then you better read up on comb filtering and make sure that you don't end up screwing the pooch with your big monster rig.

What IS of greater importance is beaming mids and highs. Obviously, I can't be THAT concerned about it if I'm using an SVT 810, but I'm sure you would agree that it's an important issue if you're looking for even response across the stage.

I hear you can rewire a 410 8ohms to make it 4 ohms but I have no clue how to do this. So in the meanwhile I'll stick to the 410 8 ohms

Currently I have a 410 8ohms ... Now, I have 2 options for my rig
get a 115 8 ohms or a 210 8 ohms...

Which one will sound better ? I have enough room in my minivan to transport those cabs and "still" can pick them up" but sound quality is my concern..

I'll be pluging in a 5 strings active and a EUB

410 8ohm CANNOT be rewired to 4ohm

if you want to add a 210 to your 410 and still get equal power to all 6 woofer, you can buy a 210 4ohm and rewire that to 16ohm... then you would get a 5.33 ohm 610 rig
