I don't have the schematic for this box, but I'd bet that the ground lift only affects the XLR output.

A quick look at the manual confirms your suspicions.

It didn't like the XLR connection either, regardless of the ground lift switch position. I guess a separate power supply for the receiver is next. Frustrating.

You could change the D-cell power supply to C-cell and then have a separate AA supply to the wireless, probably close to no change in weight; Or just tell him to suck it up and put in the necessary extra weight.

Sorry! I am just about finished with the...err...finish on that build, so the shade of the squirrel will be bonded into the bass this weekend.

OK, I just ordered a flatpack 8xAA battery pack to power the receiver. If that doesn't work, I'll either scream, or sink my vampire teeth into someone. Oh wait, I can't do that as the vampire teeth I bought didn't fit. So I also ordered a couple of different highly Amazon rated vampire teeth...

The AA 12 volt battery pack came in today so I hooked it up. Incredibly, it has a plug on it that fit right into the Nady wireless receiver.

It lives! A little fuzzy, but no static or motor boating, so it should be fine.

The Vampire teeth came in too, and it seems those will work as well. Planning a dress rehearsal for this weekend.

I haven't tried singing with them in. Shooting for a dress rehearsal tomorrow.

I also played with the bass and amp combo settings, and found that I don't really need the preamp. Cranking up the gain on the wireless seems to provide as much gain as the system can handle. It's not as loud as I had hoped, but it should be sufficient.

Are you going to 'distress' the jeans - (raggedy cuffs/blown-or knees etc) and wear sandals? Also just noticed the grey pu covers & knobs. (cartoon chrome)
