Stop considering it an attribute, as fixed as the type of wood a bass was made from, instead of the rusty strings it is: real problems that can be fixed and indefinitely prevented in the future with very simple maintenance. I wouldn't let this thread slow you down. However, if there was a problem, we need the essence of why it was a problem. Thing is, it takes a lot of words to get the point across that it was more than just the words he used. And a lot of folks won't bother to read your whole post.

Watching reality shows, when you watch really rich people eat, they have this incredibly small amount of food in the middle of this big white plate. Then they pick at it for a while. Or if they go to a restaurant, their dinner comes stacked in a big white plate, slightly leaning like the Tower of Pisa. First the meat, which I think is about 2 ounces. Then the taters. Then a little bit of some sort of grass on top. Yummm!!!! One bite!!!!

After that, it went down hill. Yes, it is annoying to have a young kid with an attitude confront you, but it could have been handled better.
I think it would have been fun to hand the kid the bass and say, "please do." and see what happens next.
When the kid plugged into the guitar amp, it would have been better to tell him politely it is a guitar amp and a bass can damage it, then help him find a bass amp.

I seem to miss what the problem is with a kid saying a bass is out of tune and that his father says he has perfect pitch. How is that disrespectful?

An evolved person such as myself would have said nicely, "That's great! I wish I had perfect pitch. Would you mind tuning it for me?"
