12's?!! For Bass?!! Oh come now! Really?!!

True story: I ran my bass into a Peavey Butcher tube amp into two low-end Fender 1x12 PA cabinets and it sounded awesome.

I then presumed it would sound awesome with an Avatar 2x12 bass cab, but it wasn't awesome.

What do you mean guns no longer use hand-packed powder and primer charges with spherical rounds and unrifled barrels!?!?!

Cars no longer use distributors for igintions, and bags come out of the roof, dash, doors and pillars to protect you in an accident!?!?!?!

Yes, technology does advance.... but hang on to those phonographs, vinyl is making a strong comeback.

So you're trying to tell ME, that a 2x12 cab. is gonna be deeper, punchier, warmer and clearer than a 1x15? (or two 1x15's)? I'm a firm believer that 15's are the ultimate cones/cabs for Bass guitar, and now someone comes along and tells me that 12's are where it's at for Bass! Are you serious?:cool::woot:
Ok the key this speaker thing is to find the speakers that sound good to you.
I am running one 15 with four 10s and that is the best sound for me.
Not all speakers and amps sound the same so find amp and or speakers that YOU LIKE.
Oh! some 8 inch speakers have a very deep and snappy sound.

12s? Nah, 1/2" is where it's at:

Actually the sealed 4x12 cabs are low mid monsters ... they sound great for a bass guitar

I have used every size & combination. I was always a 15 guy, usually with a 2x10 cab.
I switched to 2x12 (Tecamp S212) and I am sold. I only use the second cab for bigger outdoor gigs.
40 pounds of thunder that smokes any 4x10 i've ever used.
