15" club

Nice! Take pictures of the progress.

I'll tell you what, I'll want to see that, so, if you post a build thread, I'll give you a number before it's even complete. You would've earned it.

And, maybe some more info, dimensions, price for the parts, estimated time to completion?

Not to worry, I will be doing a build/progress thread on my cabinet once I get underway. To answer some early questions:
- I don't have the 100% sure dimensions yet since I haven't done a sandwich construction project yet. But I do know that I'm going with 3.5ft^3 ported for the dual B&C neo 15's tuned to 44Hz. The 18Sound midrange will be in 0.25ft^3 sealed and will sit on the baffle much like the fEARful 15/6 design.
- After some initial pricing, it looks like the initial costs (midrange driver, composite materials, Eminence pre-fab passive X-over, and various cabinet finishing touches) will come out to $375. I traded some other gear for the B&C drivers, so you could just add the price of 2 Eminence drivers onto the $375 since they seem to be a very popular choice.
- ETIC for this project is going to be hard to nail down right now. I have one other project that I have to finish first (sealed 8" enclosures for the front doors of a Scion xB) But I want to have both of these projects 100% complete within the next 90 days.

Thanks for the interest guys and I hope that this cabinet turns out as nice as I'm hoping.

:D
yo man, love the 15 inch sound, but im 50.. back in the day thats what we all used and we still sound good..jammin a mid 90's model peavey combo 115 now,300 watts still sounds great...i might ,just coz im gettin a little pressure from outside sources ,pre amp a 2-10 on top,but these same peps suggested a new rig some time back and wanted me to go 4-10 ,and no 15 ,they still wear the scares from that day...15 for life....

This is my kinda club. I've currently got an Ampeg B200R 1x15 Combo. By this time tomorrow I'll own an Ampeg 2x15.

Sorry guys...it's not that I don't believe you guys, but I have stated pics are needed to join...so...yeah...

Also, billy m, if that's true, then you are awesome, and incredibly scary, at the same time :D

warnergt, how's that Fender 215 sound? Looks sweet.

It sounds really, really sweet -- no complaints at all so far.
I was using my Bassman 250 amp with it. I just switched over
to my Ampeg SVT-3 PRO just to see what it sounds like.
Everything sounds good.

I just wish my whole house didn't rattle when I crank it up.
My wife says the windows are going in and out upstairs. :p

Here's my small amp with a 15 driver

I have the Carvin LSx1503A. Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to shrink my photos to fit the site. Does anyone know how to do this on a Mac? I use iPhoto. Images are usually in the thousands of pixels and I can't figure out how to shrink to parameters without cropping the pics to nothing.

I have always had a 15" speaker in my rig.....o collection since I got my first bass amp 20 years ago!!!

My first bass amp was a Marlin 50B combo.....50 watts inot a single 15". Loved that wee amp...and still have it!!!:bassist:

I then moved onto Trace Elliot.....AH250 head and a Cerwin Vega 2 x15"......that was interesting.

Traded the Cerwin Vega (I know....shame on me.....) for a Trace 4 x 10 (still had the Marlin though....):o

Added a Trace 1 x 15" (few back in the rig!!).:smug:

Traded the whole Trace rig....for another.....AH500 plus Trace 4 x 10 and TRace 1 x 15.:bassist:

Bad back suggested I downsize.......so Trace rig went in favour of Ashdown ABM500 head with Mini 48 (4 x 8) and Mini 15 (1 x 15"):D

I also sneaked in an Ashdown Electric Blue 130....with a 15" speaker.......

So my bass collection at the moment has 4 8" speakers....and 3 15" speakers!!!:bassist:

Here's a piccy to compare the Trace Rig I had ....to the ashdown rig I have....

and the Ashdown rig itself.....

Well....15 isn't searchable, and there are many thread with the word "club", obviously, so I guess the occasional bump so the thread can be found won't hurt ;-)

While I'm at it, did I miss anyone? I think everyone who sent pics has a number, but, if not, feel free to correct me.

Now this is a club I can support!

Visible in this picture for official verification purposes are my Acoustic 406 cabinet (2x15) and Bag End S15B (1x15). Besides those, I also have an Acoustic 136 (1x15 combo) and an Acoustic 404 (1x15 ported cabinet).

I am only using one 15" atm for most gigs.

now THAT'S what i'm talking about, hot damn! i have one of those s15l-d cabs myself and am seriously gassing for a second. it is everything i ever wished for in a 1-15 and then some. i built an ampeg style caster tray for mine (with the knurled knob set screw) and splurged on some primo 4" blue rubber Guitel casters. three of those cabs?!? heart be still
