15" club

i've `sort of' gotten tired of my old Peavey TNT Combo, she will vibrate the bodyshop with almost any pedal if i twist the pre- down and focus on the main knob, been fun, sounds like `paper' fuzzing away:hmm:,she's totally a rugged piece of kit for sure though,,(bought another`strat' and don't like the sound of it thru the TNT,pedals and all=?),overall=dunno, don't gig yet, need MORE,lots more,,but???,,,the old TNT IS a great practice amp,,maybe i need 8 BWidows and a tube head!?,yeah!,,and Lemmy to show me some chords!(loan me an old beater Ric.)and BLOW THE WORLD AWAY!,yeah that's it,just screw the bills, load the bus and do a tour darnit!

or,i also deesire to sound like a double bass and join in with some local retirees and suck their knowledge about bluegrass,country,honkey-tonk,maybe some tapewounds on a fretless neck and turn it wayyyyy down,,give the `pedals' to goodwill?,hmmm,NO! WAIT!,maybe i better go look at c's list for a 4/12,seems like ther wuz one?(i'll keep the TNT for practice,oh,,did i mention i want a tele?:D)

she does thump for practicing and is convenient and rugged(and was cheap so if anything happened to it in my bondoshop i'd just shrug it off and prolly find another one to torture)but i'd want way more if i gigged ,WAY more,,,good subject i'm just thinking i need 8/15's,gallon of scotch, two hot redheads and a thousand watts tonight(one of those days)=sorry, every time i hung an instrument on me i was interrupted ALL WEEK:bawl:(might settle for one brunette!:hyper:);):D

I'm in.

My favorite cab right now. Taller, wider, a lot deeper than my svt 810's. ampeg v4b, with 2 altec 421a 15's.

Lots of cool Old School stuff here! So for something different, here's my DIY biamped cab setup with two 600 watt BMS 15's, an 18Sound 6.5, and a BMS tweeter. I have a choice of 900 or 1800 watts to the woofers, and 550 to the top box. And for EFX, I can run a separate homemade 15/6/1 cab with 500 watts feeding it.:bassist:

i thought you played down low doing the dinner curcuit,,,so they could talk biz over dinner,,wow,,1800 watts is like IKILLYA! zone, crazy,,,,,,,,,,,now tomorrow morning i'm going to search for the meanest(highest) wattage used with a `guitar'(ya ya bass),,1800 watts?=i'm lost for sure(and going to bed)

...When I decided to upgrade, I tried many of my friends amps, and many amps in stores. What I found is, no matter how hard I try, I cannot find an amp with tone of a 15", except for 15"s, obviously... I am a 15" user, and will probably remain so for life.

I salute you, sir :D. That's exactly what i found. Anyways im playing through an Ashdown Five-Fifteen ( with 1X15 as the name suggests.) Saving up for a Sovtek Mig 100B which'll run through two Ashdown ABM 115s. Sorry the picture's on the side, i can't rotate it :). Oh i'd also like a number if that's still possible, please.

this is my triple 15 rig: a bassman 215 loaded with EVMs for the bottom and a GK 115 for the "highs". I drive with a Roland SIP-301 preamp and a QSC RMX850 power amp. The other stuff you see in the photo is parts of our PA since I usually run sound too.

I have other cabs with 10"'s , but recently I got an ampeg B Series 15" powered by the B2-R, liked it so much I ordered another 15" cab (gets here this week!). Everything goes back to the 15". MY FIRST "BIG " amp was the Sunn Collesium with (2) 15" back then I was on top of the world....
