I know, I know. All the bright colors makes it look like a shot from a bad Jerry Bruckheimer movie (was there a good one?).
My "B" gear - Yes, that is a first generation SWR PS200, mated to a 15'er from a long gone GK 115 watt amp. It was a great amp, but got thrown out after it blew. Wished I would have fixed it. Still, this set-up is surprisingly light but has a big sound.
My "A" gear" - Most of the Amp bits have been mine since 2002, but the cabhas been with me since about 1986. The pre amp is a Peavey Bass Max, mated to a 300 watt Crown amp, 600 when bridged. I have a Berhinger compressor in the middle. The cab is a 1965 VOX, with an 8 ohm Peavey Black Widow hiding within. The "Frog Crossing" design is of my own making, and painted on after the VOX screen disintegrated. This gear never gets used in my acoustic Fresno band, but get plenty of workout in my San Diego cover band, RareForm.

How do these two compare tonally and efficiency-wise? How do they blend in tandem?
I'm not going to post a photo, but in 37 years of playing out, there were two I didn't use 15"s....back in the seventies - I went with an acoustic 301 cab for two years. then I went back to my 15"s and was happy.
I use JBL K or E 145s. They're heavy, but unbelievably nice sounding.

not quite done yet ... I'm in the process of tuning. So the port shelf is just sitting there in place. Once tuned it will be glued in with a brace and the bottom will be glued up. Then unload and do the round over on the edges, duratex finish, speakon plate and grill.

Close though. The home brew cab is based on very similar internal dimensions to the bottom cab. It's a touch larger and will have a slightly longer port shelf - a little deeper tuning. It is in 5/8's marine ply for the carcas with a baltic birch speaker baffle. The baffle is dado'd in .25 inch on either side. Tonally they are something like Bag End S15-D's but with a little more bottom. Not as woofy as some 1x15's I've heard. The Eden pumps 300 into each cab and ... it's already loud. Stupid loud in my little rehearsal / recording space. Once tuned - it will be worse yet
Then I start the next one. 5/8'ths Baltic all around this time. My plan is to do 2 more in Baltic 5/8th's and have two that match. The carpeted cab and test bed box will hit Craigs List shortly thereafter ...

Hey bluesy, this may help. Click on search and select advanced search. Enter the phrase 1x15" cabinet club in the keyword box, choose the 'search entire posts' option, select the Amps[BG] sub-forum. When I tried it this way lots of 15" stuff showed up. The 15" club was the second in the list.

..............Always loved 15" seakers for my sound! I recently got a new rig with two Epifani UL 115 cabinets, and a Markbass LMK 800 Tube. The Epifani cabinets are large in volume, and move lots of air, but they are extremely light. The reponse is better than most 12" cabinets, but they still have the full sound of 15" speakers!

I've got a singular Bullfrog 15" speaker in a most heavy duty monstrous cab!
Must be from the 70's.
No tolex, only layer after layer of some kind of thick black enamel paint.
2. something feet wide, by 2. something feet high, and 1 and a half feet deep.
It must weigh about 65 to 70 pounds. 8-Om, don't know the watts, or speaker type.
I've played it with various heads and combos.
Tremendously loud, floor shaking reverberations!
Death Metal wall trembling, chest crushing blows with every each strum!
Does anyone know the wattage or what kind of speaker were in these?
I fancy to find another one!
I've never seen another one!
I speculate on the enormity of the possibility of a 4X15 cab; that might exist--or might be made.
I will send a pic when I get my camera!
