Kirbs man, rock on. There is alot of deception in drinking. hell, i am from sin city. ive held a jack daniels here and there to try and get chicks, but its not worth it man. its ok not to drink man.

Um hate to tell you this, but I'm from las vegas too... I don't see any difference to social life here than anywhere else. As for the alcohol to get chicks, I don't think that would work as well as sitting down to talk to them.

That's another thing, confidence never comes in a bottle. You don't need to drink to be cool or be drunk to be funny... Some of the best conversationalists are witty, creative and verbose, last time I checked it's hard to do that when you're inebriated.

if this gets senseless....blame my english, i'm a spanish speaking person...thanks

i'm 18 and have never got drunk...really proud. i can't undersand why alcohol is a must for people of my age to be a social person(maybe because the shy ones, like me, need it to be more spontaneous?)..... or why you need it, or drugs, to be in another mood, i mean from sad to happy, and so on.... with time you can achieve those changes by yourself, mentally...
it's like one friend told me once at 5 AM..."hey, you haven't drink all night, but you're still having fun and with lot's of energy"
that's because i put myself in a mood for partying!(mentally)...
and you can always have good conversations without drinkin alcohol.... everything you need is in yourself. i'm talking about selfcontrol.

another thing is that you don't really need to be happy all the time and prove it to your friends... if you want to be sad for a little time...be it...or you are going to repress yourself.

besides without alcohol...you are going to be much more healthier.
that's all

Couldn't agree more!!!

There's nothing wrong with not drinking. I'm proud about the fact that I don't smoke pot (anymore), and I've also found that most people are fine with the fact you don't drink/smoke/do drugs/whatever. So, as far as the drinking thing goes, you don't suck.

But as far as everything else goes.... I dunno. You might.

That's not necessarily true - scientists have discovered that part of the reason a "mediterranean" diet is healthy is the regular consumption of red wine.

A glass or two, of wine every day helps to thin the blood and make your heart healthier, by reducing blood pressure.

I save mine up till the weekend and drink a whole bottle!! ;)

Check this link :

"a report from the Copenhagen City Heart Study of 13,000 people over 10 years. Researchers there concluded that teetotalers had twice as much risk of dying from heart disease as people who drank wine every day.

The exact mechanism isn't known, but the most popular explanation credits the red pigments in grape skins. These are members of a family of compounds called proanthocyanidins, which are powerful antioxidants. If this is the primary action, however, you would get the same benefits from drinking red grape juice or eating enough red and purple fruit (certain grapes, plums, blueberries).

The tannins in red wine also can hinder the platelet cells in the blood from clumping together and triggering a heart attack. Plus, other studies have found that any alcohol can raise levels of HDL - the protective form of cholesterol - and also inhibit platelet clumping."

yeah..i know the thing about wine....but i imagine that there are always things that can give the same or similar results.... i'll ask in homeopatics.....

how much is the chilean wine up there? maybe we can make business :D. I've heard that its really expensive.... you'll be a lot more healthier if you buy me chilean wine. granted!;)

We do get Chilean red wines here in England - like Merlots and Cabernet etc. - usually it's pretty cheap in the Supermarkets. The most expensive Red Wines are usually from France - although they are one of the closest producers to us!! ;)

I prefer Spanish Red Wine - like Rioja - but basically I'll drink anything if it's good quality!!

I visited Kefalonia last summer and got to see around a vineyard and was really taken with a wine they make there called "Zephyros Breeze" which is really different....but maybe the taste brings back the memory of holidaying in the Greek Islands!! ;)
