1970's Kustom Head and 2x15 spotted in store

I saw this online and wondered if anyone was looking for an old Kustom rig. Bill's is great to deal with, and usually negotiable. Invalid Link Removed

PS - It appears that they mislabeled it as 1960's. Someone more knowledgeable says it's from the 70's

Heyyyy I use a vintage kustom and vintage 2x15! :bassist:

late 60s-early 70s (no idea) Kustom200 and 70s Ampeg B25b 2x15 (entire rig (with a boss ODB-3 thrown in) bought for $400 in 2003)

The Kustom in the OP's link is too much. $400 for the full set up would be a bit better.

Thats a Kustom 250 head, and will give you about 125w or so of clean SS power.

The KUSTOM 200 that is linked later on is 200w PEAK, and 100w RMS or so.

I have a later Kustom, and a WOODSON cab. Anybody here ever heard of Woodson? ;)

Do you use both, a mic and a DI?

Mark

Nope, neither with that set up. (I have multiple heads and cabs though for if i need to)

That set up of the Kustom200 and Ampeg 2x15 was my rig for 3 years of full-time touring and NEVER had a problem. It held up perfectly fine with a guitarist using a Peavy VTM-120 and full stack. It was cranked about 2/3 to 3/4 and has the most amazing over driven tone i have ever heard out of a SS amp.

That head has been there forever. At least a year and maybe more. They should try lowering the price unless they don't mind waiting. I have played it and it sounds good.

I have bought several things from there with great service. They have revamped and consolidated (they used to have 2 stores right next to each other). I haven't been there in a while. It might be time for a visit.

Ya know, i've never even been there... i usually go down to the MoCo/DC area to Atomic, Chuck Levins or Victor Lits... every now and then i'll go to Westminster to Coffee Music... but never Bill's... which is weird since i'm in Baltimore at least 2 times a week...
