2 Notes Opus

hello, I have a question: is it possible to get distorted sounds with the OPUS? Some kind of overdrive, or is it only for clean bass tones? Thanks
In addition to what Ross said, the Albion, Tanger, & Peggy will do overdriven tones if you crank the gain, the Albion & Tanger will do distortion if you crank the gain even more.
Those are the only ones that I have experimented with as far as looking for dirty tones.

Well its been fun but I think I might more on my OPUS. It sounds great, some of the best power amp modelling I've used. While I didn't enjoy the included cabs, IR loading was excellent.

Much to my surprise, the thing that ruined it for me is lack of audio interface functionality which I've really gotten used to with the Quad Cortex or even the Boss Katana:Go, which also supports audio over bluetooth.

I'm assuming there's no likelihood of these features coming in a future release?

It may not be exactly what you are referring to, since I still have a Torpedo CAB M+ and not the Opus, but I am definitely able to connect to the unit via bluetooth. I can load up the Wall of Sound on my iPad, and edit my presets pretty easily. It's not a super slick system, or interface, I agree with you there. But it should be bluetooth accessible 100%, so if you are having issues, I'd reach out!

The app connects to edit pressets via bluetooth but you cant stream audio to practice to.

I’ve gotten so used to the Katana GO and just being able to play along with songs or jam tracks from my phone. Just realised today that I can also plug it into my phone and use it as an audio source for the native camera app too so I can do quick recordings of riff ideas and send them to the band chat etc without having to sit in the office and boot up logic etc.

I didn't realise how important that stuff was until it was gone. At least with the QC you can still plug in an iPad or phone, even if bluetooth audio streaming isnt enabled. Not as practical but manageable.

I think where the extra juice is with the Two Notes Opus/C.A.B. M+ is, the system integration relative to the actual amplifier being used by a player (mostly guitar player).

The Bluetooth control features are great, but I tend to set and forget to a large degree in regards to making major changes. (i.e. not messing with the amp once set.)

Streaming tracks (and recording tracks) with a cell would be cool. But, the performance of the OPUS as an IR loader is unsurpassed @ $269 on sale now.

QC modeler is what it is and does, for like +/- $1600, an option desired by some. The Boss product - Katana (Bass amp?) is an amp with Roland legacy. Perhaps not on a level that many professional guitarists would be looking to integrate with something like the recently released Loader II platform?

I see Two Notes product line as a - "non cost prohibitive" professional stage system that also records in a truly exceptional manner. The other stuff is convenient, but not a deal breaker in any scenario.

I'm nearly finished with my board transformation and will follow-up with the pics as promised. 🔥

To clarify, im referring to the
Katana:GO which is a tiny portable headphone amp, not as competition to the OPUS, but as a product that offer a lot of functionality which would massively enhance the OPUS folks using boards on the move.

I’ve spoken to a few people who've opted for the Element over the OPUS for these features and I totally get it. If you're touring, having a portable practice rig is really useful, being able to record my bass at a rehearsal on my phone etc, so many applications.

An aux input just isn't practical.

Its a shame I couldn't get on with it but ultimately I think the Element does everything I need, with the exception of the power amp modelling but I think the audio interface and bluetooth audio streaming make the compromise worth it.

I started IR with the Element, as well. I know it was discontinued.

Outboard devices are great, I always really appreciate having scratch tracks when working with a writer. It moves the process along. I suppose that being able to use an AUX IN can make it happen if not sitting in a studio.

I tend to invest in sound quality over some other feature sets. But, the potential of the amp integration focus is real appealing to a tube head lover. (Full disclosure, I don't have an amp at this time!)

Yeah, I like the idea of hooking it up to my Handbox WB100 to get some captures etc of the power amp. I just haven't gotten around to it yet! Can't beat the all-valve bass amp, even if modellers are getting close tonally.

Its a great product and I think for a lot of people it’d be perfect. I'll be honest, ive not noticed any difference in quality of its from the Element or OPUS, I think it just comes down to other features. I much prefer the OPUS design and onboard UI to the Element. It also has some great features if you get on with the bundled amp sims.

For me, at the moment I dont have much time where I’m free to sit in my office to record ideas so the lack of that functionality has become way more important than it has in the past. I'll probably just stick to the QC while I see what else comes out over the next 6 months at which point ill hopefully be doing more gigs.

Now, that Polish 120 watt (4 x 6L6) head caused me to scratch my head. (I haven't heard it.) I did see one dude on a NAD post that after his gig, didn't comeback to comment on the "in the line of fire" results??

I have to admit that I'm looking at a powered cabinet (WJA - I've had two), a Fender ACB 50 or (I stumbled on a late 80's Trace Elliot AH350X & 1810 cabinet that will reorganize your innards for ya!)

The last one has been discontinued for years!

Its a cracking little head at 15kg, downsized from the 40kg monstrous Marshall VBA400. It sounded incredible but I don't need a head that takes 2 people to carry. I can at a push carry the Handbox, Baer ML112, pedalboard and bass in one trip just about solo.

I hear ya....

I'll probably end up with the WJA again... bulletproof!

I'm jones'ing for a GRBass active cabinet or possibly one of their combo amps (the combos have a 'Pure' switch that is supposed to remove the EQ section, from what I can surmise).
One of their 210 actives or combos would probably cover a decent array of venues, if you don't have a really hard-hitting drummer &/or a couple of volume-junky guitarists.

We're very sorry to hear this. In answer to your question, Audio over Bluetooth and an onboard audio interface are not possible to add to the unit via an update as this requires some mechanical alterations. In addition - specifically with the Audio Interface - this would have pushed the price up and instead we wanted to focus on a low-noise, pro-grade solution at the 300USD price mark. If you have any other questions, please let me know!

Na that's fair, its not a use-case I’d anticipated being such a deal breaker for me tbh! Audio over bluetooth in particular.

Awesome product, if I could justify it I’d have it permanently on my desk or as a backup DI.

Noted and understood - I understand that. Rest assured, I have sent this to our team now for review / consideration in relation to any future product developments.

Nice, I need a second Baer cab, were too loud for a single 112 or 210 to cut it. As it stands the guitarist has a bunch of ampeg 610s and 810s available so its very hard to justify the investment!
That's an older picture (2022)...but I do dig on Roger's cabinets though.

I had one of these on each side of the drummer @ 1000 watts each running dual mono off of the Aguilar DB659.

I expect one this time around with the OPUS...!

Those cabinets pulled the oxygen out of the room.

Rio Grande Pitbulls in the LPB-3... brutal.
