2 Notes Opus

I just ordered a 30 meter Bluetooth receiver. The device housing will plug into the USB 5v outlet on the CIOKS 7. Then attach a 1.5' 1/8" TRS straight to angled cable to the units Audio female 1/8" TRS adapter dongle and into the OPUS AUX IN. It will all be under the board.

$21.00 complete & delivered - Amazon Prime

I'm also looking at a Hercules Cellphone or Tablet holder arm to attach to the pedalboard. It should keep the 📱 at a good hight to just bend down to about knee level to scroll or whatever.

(I'm interested in an app that arranges set lists and also sends PC/CC messages per track by cable. Using the Source Audio HUB/SOLEMAN and OPUS midi connection to an SA pedal (Artifakt ) could be very handy!)
DG307B-01.jpg

I think that it can attach at the front edge and between a slat on my Pedaltrain PT-1 above the SA Nemesis ADT.

*The SA ATLAS will be next to the Hermit and the ARTIFAKT next to the **Nemesis ADT.

**SA Nuero Editor 3/SoundCheck prize

The Hermit is a wet/dry blend loop for the CRBP after the EQD Buffer/Splitter.

Dry signal from the ATLAS #1 Channel termination is at the SA ZIO Bass Preamp.

Last night I was juggling I/O options and with the Atlas Compressor being able to use Mono IN to Stereo OUT. I can send a dry signal to the #2 Channel of the Artifakt and mix OR send to the #1 Channel Mono Out that is going to the Nemesis ADT #1 Channel IN for the wet signal to the Broughton B/BA to the OPUS. (Nemesis ADT #2 Channel will be in the C4 #2 Channel effects loop for Modulation.)

Fellow Neuro/Opus user here, your setup is becoming very similar to mine! I'm usually unable to remember pedal/preset combos so I use an app called Bandhelper to do what you're describing. It makes setlists with customizable info to display on the screen, plus the option to send out multiple midi commands when a song is selected or other conditional programming. When I choose a song PC and CC messages are sent to the Hub and Opus as needed. In my case it also syncs to the same app on my drummer's phone. A selection from my device switches her sample pad preset and the app's metronome plays a count-in with sound and flashing lights. You do need an OTG usb adapter to get midi in-out of the phone, another little accessory expense.

I uploaded a couple more presets - one is a modified version of a previous upload:

IBJDSM6L6NC - Foundry Preamp, 6L6 Power Amp, No Cab.

IBJDSB6L6NC - Foundry Bass Preamp, 6L6 Power Amp, No Cab.

Warm, but tight & punchy tones.
Nice one! Will be giving these a go when I'm in the studio this weekend for sure! :)

I took my Opus and Cort B5 Element to a neighboring town that stocks some bass MI stuff.

I got to check out the Fender Rumble 100 Combo with the Opus run into the FX Return jack.

I went through a bunch of my Presets, but at least with that amp, the Presets without cab sims sounded significantly better.

The two that I uploaded to the Opus Exchange server sounded really, really nice.

I think that combination would work for a small to medium church worship band without PA support.

I still think a decent active PA cab would reproduce the models a fair bit better.

I was thinking that it might be good to have a combo in case the Opus went wonky, but I think most active PA cabinets these days have enough gain to handle plugging a bass guitar in directly (esp. an active bass).

What I've been looking at for a while is the EV ZLX-12P-G2.

I think if I could find a mint used one, that would be a great, reasonably priced solution.

After some more health and vehicle related expenses, I need to save up a bit more money.

I apologize profusely, for the confusion - the IBJDSM6L6NC Preset that I previously uploaded, somehow I had the EQ turned off and the Enhancer turned on; it should have been the other way around - I don''t know if my EQ settings get passed along if that section is turned off, I would hope so.

Anyway, I deleted the previous one (which still sounded surprisingly good) and uploaded the correctly configured one with the same name.

Here is the new link to the updated Preset:

For other users' reference, I put together a master list of the microphones used in the 6 included bass cabinets that come with the Opus, along with manufacturer/review links. I have no affiliation with any of these sites/companies. Being able to look up the frequency responses for these is very helpful.

I used to have an OPUS briefly and played the CabM+ for two years but I seemed to dial in "too much of a good thing".
Mesa 410 cab, power amp preamp, eq, enhancer ..... In the end everything was too much.
I don't have this issue with simpler devices.

I am going for a cleanish/ edge of breakup tone. Any advice?

@gillento I do a modular sort of thing, wherein I use a CAB M+ purely as my FOH, or IEM (if it's one of those gigs) feed, running an IR, with maybe a touch of EQ applied after real world testing. It's been dialled in so that it doesn't sound a million miles away from my own amp/cab. But I keep it deliberately light on the CAB, since I have a pedalboard which does a lot of tone shaping/sculpting for me (preamp, comp, HPF, etc), and is easily tweakable for on-the-fly changes, if needed.

Typically, I am running an amp of some sort of amp on stage, so I take a feed from the amp's XLR out, and run it into the input of the CAB (via a small XLR-F-to-1/4" stereo cable), which then sends an XLR line to the FOH/desk. So my amp is really there for stage volume purposes, and the sound tech gets a pretty ready-made sound right out of the gate.

Don't make assumptions about what will work for you, but start simple.
Global suggestion: dial all Presets in at the volume you want to play at.
Unless it is a Preset exclusively for soloing, tweak without accompanying music and the go back & forth playing along with the genre you want to use it with.
If you have a Good set of headphones / earbuds use those to begin with those.

Route 1:
I suggest starting with the Preamp section (with everything else turned off except the Custom EQ set flat except for the HPF & LPF dialed in for the overall range you're looking for).
If you want a Power Amp, pick the one you want and turn everything else off except the EQ as above and dial in the tone you want from the power amp.
Then if you want Preamp + Power Amp, add them together and fine tune them together.

Route 2:
If you are determined to add a Cab Sim, start with that first and experiment with different mics and locations, get that dialed in, then proceed to above Route 1. [My favorite Cab Sim is the "Standard Powerhouse 1000".]

If you use a colored bass amp for practice or live, you may want two Presets that are targeting a similar tone - one optimized for running into FOH mixer or a recording desk and a modified Preset that sounds acceptable through your actual amp.

So in general, dial in one section at a time, then add one section at a time and re-tweak.

I hope that helps.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Two Notes has a Summer Sale going on:

Two Notes Summer Sale

I just bought a couple more DynIR Cabs - the Traditional Powerhouse 4x10 (which I believe is a new cab, I almost bought the Traditional Ph 8x10, but after going back and forth, the 4x10 sounded a bit more focused) ...
and
... I bought The Bass Deluxe 8x10 which just sounds huge, fat, and a bit gnarly and has some great mics with it - I will probably use this for all of my OD and distortion Presets.
