For the B's Chara and Rask looked wobbly on their skates tonight. Iggy, Bergeron and Boychuk played well. For the Habs, Price, Pacoiretty, Gallagher, and Eller were solid. Jorges and Weaver, once again did all the right things on D. Favorite moment....Gallagher jawing at Chara in the face off circle, about the big guy not spending enough quality time with him. On to another original six match up.....Cool!
I've been saying for years...it would be nice to have fast, skill team beat a big strong team. For years, everyone has said the Habs are too small........
Hockey has, by leaps an bounds, the highest skill level of any professional sport, so its about time finesse wins over fatness.

The Bruins have a ton of skill on their team. The Habs, over a seven game series, outworked them. Eller on the back check was a thing of beauty, Gallagher flying around, and watching Weaver and Jorges game after game control the puck and get it out of the zone was great. In fact, the whole Habs team in their own zone were ruthless at getting to and controlling the puck....no matter the cost. And in the final analysis Price outplayed Rask to seal the deal. Oh yeah, and Weise was classic giving the rhubarb back at Lucic....did you notice Lucic and Weise shaking hands afterwards.....Respect. Hockey.....great game.
What was the animosity between Lucic and Weise? They already had some history as Weise was a former Canuck.
In previous games, after Lucic scored he was doing the pound the chest, King of the Jungle thing.....so when Weise scored he gave it back at him and various other shots. In the line up to shake hands, Lucic was still ripping on him and it looked like Weise was 'like whatever dude, you lost'. Keep your stick up and your elbows sharp Dale.
I will never like the Habs. Didn't like them when Dryden was goalie. Don't like them now. Too much nose in the air attitude,even when they lose. Rooting for the Rangers is almost like rooting for the Yankees

I found it a bit aggravating knowing certain players were playing extremely poorly, yet seeing them consistently on the ice. No line mix ups, well, a bit in the 3rd period, but not much. I wonder if Bert really will get traded away.

Lol, this from the team whose best player celebrates every goal as if was an OT winner... I guess the B's are supposed to just skate off with their heads down?
The whole lack of respect/we are the victims and can do no wrong is getting really old with the Habs. If anything the B's gave them too much respect which made them nervous and threw them off their game!
Congrats on the series win! The Habs definitely outplayed the B's and deserved it...
Tough loss, but C's played better and earned the victory. B's played well in stretches, but that doesn't cut in the playoffs, C's elevated their game, the B's seemed to regress.
It is interesting to see the Canadian's rip a page from Coach Belichik's playbook and play "we don't get no respect card." I thought they were the winningest franchise in sports history. Whatever gets you through the night, I guess.

I'm glad my favorite team has made it this far. Go Habs. I will say that the Bruins did not go down easy and I was worried they were gaining too much momentum half way through series 2. Tampa Bay was easy to beat, however, there was only one game where Tampa was beat by more than one point, so the sweep wasn't exactly a cake walk.
Unfortunately, my second favorite team, Pittsburgh Penguins, didn't make it.
Not surprised that Minnesota Wild lost. They didn't have all the components for a Stanley Cup winning team, in my opinion, but their first round win against the Avalanche surprised me.

I agree. I did think they would have won Game 6 at home and they did everything but win that game but that's hockey. Maybe we can get some things figured out this off season.
That Kings/Ducks game last night was great. One softie by Gibson was the difference. Another game seven....cool.
