2013-2014 NHL playoffs thread.

I will probably watch the Ranger/Montreal games, if I remember.

Same here.

The talk in Boston is on how to retool the team to deal with the new playoff system that will likely have Boston going up against Detroit and/or Montreal often. Montreal have already done this successfully by adding some grit to its game to better handle the Bruins. Now it is the B's turn to add more team speed and maybe a pure scorer to better match up against the Wings and the Habs.

They seemed to handle the Wings just fine. Was it 5 games?

Hey, at least the Pens didn't have Mike Gillis as their GM...they're arguably in a lot better position that the Canucks. Sure, Fleury might be shaky at times, but nonetheless, he has that playoff experience and if they keep working on his stability, he'll do fine. At least Shero didn't trade away Crosby and Malkin for a draft pick and two prospects!

False information....I read that while I was half-asleep and checked TSN and NHL...totally off by a long shot. Sorry for that; it's why I deleted that comment.

I deleted mine as well, otherwise it looked like I was questioning mkandolf on published news.

I figured you were just trying to be one of those 'you heard it hear first' types. :D

Well I tend to know about stuff first but I don't go around saying s**t like that. As soon as I find out about firings, hirings, eliminations, trades, etc., I post them here because most of my friends DGAF about hockey.

Yes, but the Wings were not at full strength. In addition, I'm assuming that someone in the Wings organization watched the Bos-Mon series and saw that adding a little toughness to a team that already has speed/skill/goaltending gives a team a good shot at beating the B's.

Boston wasn't at full strength either. I didn't see many problems Detroit presented.

But I'm not trying to dispute your point. I agree with what you're driving at.

It has to really suck right now for Bylsma. Everyone knows he's going to get fired, and there are some decent jobs out there to be had right now. I wish the Pens would just go ahead and let Bylsma go and get it over with.
