2013-2014 NHL playoffs thread.

Thing of it is, if they would fire him, who would they have to replace him? I can't think of a single person on staff would could be moved up to that role, and there's pretty slim pickings out there right now. I bet they give him another year and if he still fails with the new GM, they can him and poach Babcock.

Amazing game 7.

Classy of the Kings to stay behind to salute Teemu Selanne. Man, he had a hard time holding back the tears; so did I. Awesome player. I remember him playing way back in the day and to see him still in the NHL until now...amazing.

When Selanne was asked how he felt about the Kings staying behind to salute him:
"Unbelievable they had so much class. That's what this game is all about."

Lucic could learn a bit of class, eh?

Canadiens have announced that Price is out for the series.

That may suck for Montreal. Maybe they should have their defense defend rather than whack at the ankles of a big speedster as he's flying in on goal. If that play is what took Price out of the series, then I have to say it's more Montreal's fault than Kreider.

But, I doubt that's the case. And, I have a stinky feeling that if the series makes it back to MTL, which it likely will, you'll see Price come down the tunnel and take the ice in an attempt to drive some motivation and psych out NYR. I'm not saying he's not injured, but he got up and played again after that crash.

The bad part for NY...all season long they have had a knack for making backup and rookie goalies look like Vezina cup candidates. So, even if It's Budaj or some 3rd stringer, that shouldn't put Ranger fans at ease.

Major bummer that Price is out for the rest of the series. I was hitching my wagon to Montreal but now I'm not sure how good their chances are.

Bylsma will definitely not be the Pens HC next year. If Pens really REALLY want Babcock, I could see them making Jaques Martin HC for a year then chasing Babcock. However, I don't think that will happen. Once the new GM is chosen he will fire Bylsma and hire a new coach.

That is a bad break for Montreal as Price was very solid against the Bruins. That said, Budaj was excellent this year against the Bruins, so the C's could still get back into this thing.

I disagree--it looks like he put on the breaks too late. Was there a fight after this incident?
