The PK had a what, a 17 PP streak? It's not like they aren't trying haha.
Terrible clear attempt by G but as much as it hurts me inside, Hemskey threw the deke to get into space and made a really nice pass for the goal.
5 minute PP. Flyers need to score two goals. Look to me like Belov made contact with G's shoulder first so maybe a bit of a break for the Flyers. Make em pay.

Only thing I could compare it to would be a guy with a Red Sox jersey wearing a Yankee hat. Silly...

I'm happy to see some smiles at the end of this game. Albeit the Oilers are a bit of an injured foe, but a win is a win and they played a pretty strong game at both ends of the ice. Not perfect.
Let's hope that this win gets the Flyers playing with some swagger and they can put together a string of wins that gets this season going in the right direction.
"Bit of a break" for sure. I thought that was a terrible call. I think the ref saw Giroux's head snap back trying to avoid the hit. Anyway, I was glad the Flyers didn't score on that power play. But I felt bad for the Oiler who got the Match Misconduct. Not warranted, IMO. So the penalty on Simmonds was okay with me.
Great to see Giroux finally find the back of the net. And I'm also glad it was on a sweet shot, and not a flukey little goal. Maybe this will get him going. Hartnell's goal was a nice one as well.

Tough loss for the Pens Saturday to St. Louis, but I like 2-1 games.
Now thanks to the lovely NHL schedulers, the Pens are off until Wednesday when it's round two with the Flyers.
Jagr picked up point 1,700 Sunday. One of I believe eight NHL players with 1,700 or more points. Impressive. Nice performance from Brodeur in the same game, getting a shutout.
Ducks back on top of the NHL and riding another five game winning streak. Colorado is right behind them. It looks like the power is in the west this year for the NHL. The only eastern conference team that would be in the playoffs in the west if the playoffs started today would be Tampa maybe, which they don't, and this analogy always irritates me anyway.

Hmm, maybe I should post more knocks on Giroux more often? He scored after all and the Flyers won. I could get into one of those Budweiser (UGH!) commercials, you know, it's only crazy if it doesn't work.
