Not true. The master is most often a preamp attenuator. When the master is turned up, it is basically a non master amp with the volume control setting the overall level. The power tubes wear down based on how hard you push them. Play with the volume level cranked and you wear down the power tubes faster.

BUT, if you crank the gain and turn down the master, you will wear down the preamp tubes faster.

Can anyone share their experience with both the 210AV and 112AV? compare and contrast for me?

Really enjoying using my 210AV and am considering either getting a second one or a 112AV. A few reasons, first I want to have one set up at home at all times when I might have the 210AV packed up or in the car. I am mostly planning on a small jazz trio and small church gigs but there may be rare times where I do need more than just the 210AV, and would consider pairing the two.

Yes. While the V4B sounded good, the Orange AD200B is a match made in heaven if you like deep but still defined bass. It is like they were made for each other and is my go to combination for the NV215. They just complement each other so well.
I tend to use the V4B most with the Ampeg cabs (212AV or pair of 210AVs) as they seem to have the same relationship. I just sold an NV115 as I always went for the NV215 over it (I like a clean tone) and it was getting no use.

Threw this down over in the Bergantino thread, but thought I'd post here as well...

I've been completely happy with my V-4B paired with a couple of SVT210AV cabs since the end of 2013. But, after trying out the Bergantino CN212, I had to bring one home. Sounds absolutely fantastic with the V-4B. I've spent about 45 minutes at home with the cab and am exceptionally happy thus far. It'll make its gig debut tonight. :bassist:

I know it does not affect the sound, but that overlap......
As a total tone freak I never thought I would say that :crying:
Did you get a chance to compare the Berg 212 with an Ampeg 212AV?

Haha,you guys....... and I thought I was rather OCD.:cool: I can live with that look more than my V4B above my vert, stacked RS210 cabs I tried at home awhile back. I shoulda taken a pic and posted it to freak y'all out too. :smug: I may try my V4B on top of my GB NX2-212T cab to see if I can handle that look in person.

Gona use my V4B w/212AV tonite. I've been so lazy to lug my Ampeg rig out to last few gigs opting for my GB 12.2 or GK-MB800 instead w/TB153 or NX2-212T. All those pieces so very light n easy to schlep about. But this gig is near my home, ez load in/out, so why not. And I wanna hear my "big rig" again.

Hmm, sure looks hot n muggy out there. Oh well, gear is loaded in back of SUV out in garage; so it's on. :bassist:

I didn't buy a cart because I made one many years ago, you can see it under my new dolly/cab in post number 1969 :) it probably has hundreds of miles on it.

I almost always load in in one trip - even with an upright bass - I consider wheels that are connected to the cab mostly for stage/studio use. My flat cart with the four inch wheels will still get the parking lot and street duties most of the time.

Yeah, I'd rather the dimensions be the same, but ultimately it doesn't bother me. I didn't get a chance to try out one of the Ampeg 212AV cabs. I heard the Berg and was sold.

I have a GB NeoX 212T and the V4B RI is a scary fit. The feet barely sit on the cab so one slight bump and it'll be on the floor. BE CAREFUL!!!
