2013 Ampeg V-4B 100W Reissue Pt2

Well not frozen but it had been in a cold truck for 3 days lol. Besides that I had to go and buy a new speaker cable cause all I had was a speakon cable. So now I've played through this amp some and have come to the conclusion that this is a LOUD 100 watts!!! It sounds really good through the NeoX 212T cab I just wish it was a better fit. I know I'm in the honeymoon stage but as far as I'm concerned Ampeg hit it out of the ballpark with this amp.

Glad to hear! I'll be picking mine up, along with one of the svt 112 av cabs, on Sunday. I've been waiting a week and am bursting at the seams! Just hoping the 112 will be enough for my stage volume needs. Has anyone tried the v4b with a 112 yet? Also, anyone used the DI yet? I'll be using mine a lot, so long as it sounds good, otherwise I'll need to find a mic...

I've tried mine through two of my Aguilar SL112's though not at a gig, just at home. Haven't tried just one though I'm sure it'd sound good with just a tad less bottom to it. Used the DI out of the V-4B this past weekend - sounded good to me and no complaints from the sound man.

Out of the Ampeg amp DI's I've tried, I think the V4B's probably the best, although the SVT DI's are certainly no slouches.

Well I've been playing through the V4B for a few days now and all I can say is WOW!!! This is the best tone I've ever had and it seems to me that it's every bit as loud as the Traynor YBA200-2 that I had if not louder. Jammed a little Saturday night with just acoustic guitar and it sounded great. Can't wait to get the SVT 212 AV cab!!!

Sold my SVT410HE, got the SVT-212AV cab. Perfect match soundwise with the V-4B.

Jimmy, do not play through the 212AV. If you do, it will become obvious that it's time to sell some stuff and get one. Before you know it, the V-4B/212AV pair will be your go to rig for 98% of your gigs. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Hmm you think so?? I have a vintage v4b and use either my 410he or 115he and they sound great....hmmm might have to sell the 115he to fund this....

Did have my eyes on a 112av in the NF. So far haven't been able to try either cab, though.

I've had my v4b and svt 112 av for about 4 days now and absolutely love it! This rig was an upgrade from a PF-500 and 115he setup and the difference in sound is well worth it. First gig with the new rig is this weekend, so we will how the 112 does for my stage volume needs, but I'd venture to say it's as loud, if not louder, than the 115he. If it doesn't cut the mustard I'll add another 112.

I am interested to hear how much clean volume you can get from the V4-B as compared to the PF-500. I would pair it with my 115he and an Avater SB-112.

Well, I'll probably really push it for the first time this weekend, but so far, I've only been able to get clean sounds at what I would consider to be very loud practice levels. I expected it to have more breakup - super impressed with the clean headroom in this amp!

I couldn't resist any longer.

Mine is on the way. It is the Lee Rocker signed contest V4B head that has been in Guitar Center the last few weeks.

I decided to call them today and ask if they could help me make up my mind by knocking a few bucks off of the price.

Now the wait.
