LOL! All I did was replace the grillcloth and get the speakers reconedI bailed on the retolexing.
Can you believe that was 9 years ago. A lot of water has passed under the bridge since them.

Can you believe that was 9 years ago. A lot of water has passed under the bridge since them.

Often the metal ampeg plates are mangled. This one is in good shape. The front ampeg badge usually goes on the other top side. The jack plate is obviously not original. Parts-express is one source for penn-elcom dishes. You can get ¼", speakon, or a combination. There are also small plates available for a single ¼" jack that are closer to the original.

Absolutely. Will take it apart tonight or tomorrow and take inventory of problems, I will have to see if the cut out was modified under that jack plate. The big mystery is what drivers are in there.
I'm thinking I will strip it down, still have duratex from the previous restoration. New AV cloth, new terminal plate, move the badge and what I could use some advice on; thinking of insetting handles http://www.reliablehardware.com/mediumsteelcabinethandle-1.aspx and tilt back caster Recessed Casters, Tilt Casters
This makes me wish I had something bigger than my Toyota Yaris.. The biggest cab I can fit in comfortably is a large 410 or 115!
Even if the speakers are not original they might sound good. Be careful removing them. I've managed to slip and poke hole through the cone. I like to put my fingers around the tip of the screwdriver. Originally they used clutch head screws (Those Odd Looking Screws) to fasten the speakers. Often they are swapped out.
Unless you are really against the dolly, I suggest giving it a try before installing the tilt back casters. The casters require cutting holes in the cabinet. If you don't keep the dolly, you'll have to fill the two mounting holes on the bottom once the hardware is removed.
The tilt back is so convenient for managing stairs and to get from my truck to the garage (old house the garage is detached and serves as a huge shed in the yard) I have to wheel it through the lawn. A bit concerned the dolly isn't going to work all that well.
The other option is a handtruck
Handtruck is what I use to move mine because the dolly is definitely tougher to use with the flatback.
