After picking up Pete's 810E resto, and reading some of these posts, looks like a V4B is in the near future.

I bet you'd do well with a PF 50T, by most accounts they are very similar and you don't need the volume

No doubt i don't need the volume, i can barely get that 810 going with the GK, meaning, can you say OVERKILL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'll have to find a PF 50T locally to listen to though.
But i really don't have any common sense when it comes to gear, most likely will opt for the V4.

Does anyone know if rotary-relaunch is still making aluminum knobs for the V-4BR? I tried contacting them but haven't gotten a response.

I just got a response from rotary-relaunch. They are not making the aluminum knobs at the moment. *Gotta love replying to your own comment*

I've never done a gig with the V4b and 810 with the gain and master past noon. I'd bet the 50T is pretty darn loud.

Considering how i would use it, and you've been here.
Bet it would be more then plenty.

I imagine it would be kind of like a B15 on super steroids.

You could say that. A B-15 can surprise you with the head of steam it can produce if you plug it into an 810, but the V4B into an 810 can handle the vast majority of the gigs you throw at it, unless you're playing doom or something really insano.

I had the pleasure to meet Jeff when he bought my remodeled 810. He not doing doom. I'm confident the 50T will serve him well.

No doom insano here, i'm insano to have such a rig in my apartment.

Your to kind Pete, but you are correct, that PF 50 is probably the fashizzle, that's not really a word, i know.

I never did share my flatback restoration in this thread, I did create a separate thread but here is the cheat sheet.
1971 flatback 6 original CTS speakers, 2 replacements I found also '71 CTS. Removed tolex and went with o'natural.

I still plan on doing the grill cloth maybe when my wife's Christmas wrapping table clears off.

As they mention on the website the originals are push on/D shaft, the repros are set screw to allow wider use.
