2013 Ampeg V-4B 100W Reissue Pt2

I just keep powering up my V-4B with the SVT-212AV, and play my basses through it. It doesn't get any better than that.

Really really want to get a V-4B and the SVT-212AV but ive heard lots about it not having quite enough volume especially clean, can someone who has gigged this rig in small to medium venues comment on this?
For some it will be gross overkill (I'm in this category). For some it will be just enough. For some it won't be nearly enough. There is no way we can tell you what your volume needs are, so I'm afraid I can't help you. All I can tell you is it sounds divine.

I’ve been playing small dive bars recently and barely get to open her up. Typically have the gain set at 8-9ish, and the master at 12. looks awesome though.

well i play a class AB 50w 1x12 combo at the moment and have the volume around 3-5 oclock for a gig so how do you think that would translate to a 100w valve head with a 2x12

I was in the same boat but there really is a lot more volume on tap than you would expect. I run through a SVT410HE and can easily play bars with no PA support. I've never had it turned up past half way, stays plenty "clean" by my definition but then again I play loud heavy metal and run distortions and fuzzes in front of it most of the time. I'm thinking of adding an SVT15E for extra low end and fullness. That stems from the cab and personal preference though, was the same case when I ran my Mesa D800 through it.

Hi Guys ... I've got a question ... How many of you use your v4b + cab (svt 212 av) at home playing it daily there. In my case I have a b-15 at home and keep the V4B at the bands rehearsal space... Do you find the V4B too much to be playing at home ?????
It has a volume knob.

v4b at home too much? Never...lol, this is my current home setup. Two v4b’s one into the 810 and one into the 212 using ric o sound. I find the v4b into the 212 awesome sounding. I’d like to get a second 212 as they sound so good to make a more portable rig! I even used both v4b’s into the 810 splitting the top and bottom into separate 410’s. The v4b is a work horse!
