That's Dino :)

I agree that the video sounds awful and does place new V4B in the "that amps sounds medicore-to-bad" category. No offence. Are they recording with the DI out or something? Ice picky, no balls, no definition. And I really know that it screams. But when they put a video they should care about the sound. I'm just smiling when the comments here are "wow, it sounds fantastic". Judging from the medicore video??? C'mon!
I think it sounded good. Dino's a really good bass player, too. Sorry to offend you.

No doubt about that. I just think that every amp deserves ultra attention to recording when demo-ing new product. V4B is specific amp that is known for sweet breakup in mids. And this video shows just plain clean bass thing, like any other bass amp demos. Waiting for next videos. Really interesting in this reissue. I've sold my V4B two years ago and bought a vintage SVT. Miss that thing A LOT.

If you notice Dino never has the gain beyond a little past noon. Pushed beyond that it may breakup in the manner you expect. What is pushed to one person is clean to another.

Sounded good to me. What you were hearing in that video was Dino. Dino sounds like he does and plays like he plays. Pretty much every demo he does he sounds like that.

+1 Dino visited our local store and played through several amps, from the BA10 up to a CL with 810 - and Dino made them all sound pretty good.

I thought it was a pretty good video actually, and thought the amp sounded just fine. Maybe that particular flavor of Ampeg just isn't to your liking.

I think it looks smart & sounds good compared to some of the other Ampeg promo vids by that Dino guy. I will be watching the interwebs for reviews & comments in the months following it's release. For a bassist like myself who plays mostly small clubs & doesn't want to schlepp a 90 plus lb. SVT or need all the power, this could fit the bill. I would rather buy this new lighter head with a DI, than an old V4b that might need servicing caps, tubes etc., that is if this head sounds similar & turns out to be reliable.

24 month financing . I wish we had this in Canada . I tried my vr preamp in to a 66 50 watt bassman just to see if 50 watts worked . My guitar player was great letting me try this we ran through a marshall 4x12 overall it was pretty decent volume . 100 watts can only be better . Usually my vr volume is between 9 @ 10 .

The Sweetwater deals are just awesome.

I have a friend who just started on the sales floor and said he can get me really good deals on almost everything... hmmm... darn GAS! haha.

I will have to say though Ampeg is kinda stupid in pricing them higher than what you can buy an original V-4B for in good working order. Why would I want a reissue when I can get a tuned up original for less? And, while I don't know for sure, I'm going to assume the old ones are built with better trannies... the old ones are real tanks!

I would really like to have one again, the tone was incredible. Too bad the volume just isnt there for my application.

Well the nice thing about freedom of choice is that you don't have to get one if you don't want it. Some of us, however, would like a new one. Until this one gets released, we haven't had that choice since 1980.
