Well, another nice road win for the Wild. Yes, the Capitals were without Ovechkin, but all teams have to deal with injury at some point in the year.

We're at the tail end of somthing like 18 games in 28 days. we played well last night, and just couldn't get it done. I think part of the issue is that Rinne may have ran out of gas and needs a breather, but I don't see Lavi going for that.

I'd also like to see the lines moved around, and I'd like them to give Victor stalberg another shot before the playoffs. Nystrom is out, so it's the perfect time for it. We gotta get Weber, Josi, and Franson producing a little better. We are definitely built from the back to the front, so the blueline going through a slump, all at once, stings a bit. I'm not worried in the slightest though.

The only thing that leads me to hope this isn't the case, is that both players were originally Preds players under Trotz. He and Lavi both seem to be able to squeeze lemonade out of turnips.

Pens looking good so far in California. That 1-0 win in OT over LA was great. I love me some 1-0 OT hockey. The bad pass in front of Quick was a tough way to see it end for the Kings, but the Pens earned that one.

Had the same in the Rangers' win over Chicago. Only about 30 seconds of OT though.

Calgary came back from 4-0 to send their final game against the Sens into OT and then a shootout which they lost. On this key 7 game road trip they managed to get 9 out of a possible 14 points. They get a couple days rest and then meet Anaheim on Wed. night to begin their home stand. Hope they get a good ovation from the crowd - they deserve it.

Looks like we'll be making a few big line-up changes tonight. rinne is supposed to have the night off, Stalberg called up and is expected to play, and Volchenkov was activated from the IR. No word on if he'll play tonight.

The comeback didn't quite work--but a single point is still helpful...
they are one of the surprise teams this season.
If you'd said at the start that the Flames would be in the playoff hunt this late--most people would have laughed at you.

I opted to stay up past my bedtime and watch the Pens/Sharks. San Jose toughed that game out thanks to Niemi and some good defense. I find it hard to root against the Sharks since the have former Seattle Thunderbird Patrick Marleau. While I would have preferred the win, I'll take the one point.

Yeah, a surprise for everyone for sure. Management is still looking towards the future as the Glencross and Baertschi trades indicated. Rather than looking for help for a playoff run this year they opted for early round draft choices that should help with the rebuild for the next year or 2. I was happy to see this - it's been a long time since our last playoff appearance ('08) and it'd be great if they made it this year, but to me it would be a bonus - the next few years are what's important for this team.

I for one couldn't be happier to finally be revelent again.
(...just the word 'fishsticks' makes me shudder). drool

That was a tight, chippy, edge-of-your-seat game, just like they should be.
Not a single goal by anyone went in clean, but that's part of hockey, so I won't bitch about that.
Its gonna be tight going down the stretch and beyond...the way it should be.

Henrik...take your time. You're covered!

I don't care about the President's Trophy. I'd like to see home ice in the playoffs. But, I'd rather see fresh legs and no injuries for the rest of the way.
