2014-2015 NHL Regular Season Thread

Yes, Sabers tied it, then won in the shootout. B's shouldn't have left the Sabers hang around, and as I mentioned, the B's had chances, just couldn't capitalize. The B's have dropped points like this all year long. But the Sabers played hard, they earned it, it wasn't like the B's mailed it in or gave it away, they just didn't put it away when they had the opportunities.

Buffalo took Chicago to OT the night before. They aren't just rolling over are they.

They definitely are not - kudos to the players and coaches; although the GM and owner may be secretly tearing out their hair if the Sabers play themselves out of one of the top two picks. I don't know much about the Canadian player, Connor McDavid, but I watched some BU games on the tube and Jack Eichel, is going to be a good one.

McDavid is pretty highly touted, enough so that some folks are thankful they use the draft lottery now to prevent teams from tanking, ala Pittsburgh for Lemieux

Pens aren't doing much better. Seems we're content with losing out the rest of the season. Probably one and done in playoffs, again. Aggravating, from a fan perspective.

One and done appears to be the B's ceiling at the moment - missing the playoffs a very real possibility. Last night's loss in Ottawa has put the 8th playoff spot back into contention as the Sens are 2 points back with a game in hand. The B's are not showing the consistent intensity and focus that is needed to secure the playoff position. I still think they will do just enough to hang on despite the B's giving me no reason to think that. They should have locked it up by now and just like in a game when you get a goal lead but let the other team hang around anything can happen in the 3rd period - the B's are doing that with the Sens in the playoff stretch. The B's have moved past aggravating and are well into infuriating.

The Wild can feel free to go !@#$ themselves any time now.

Why so hostile? Because they have the best PK in the league? Because they are undefeated on the road for the last 8 games? Because they have a pretty hot goalie? Because they are one of the hottest teams post All Star break?
They are still struggling. No PP. Can't win at home. Can't get a penalty call their way.
