Their goalie has been off the chain good. Tied the record for longest game streak starting in the league of 12 games with 2 or less goals given up. Won 12 of his 1st 13. Is the "Hamburglar" for real!??
Hammond has been fantastic. The Sens are only 4 pts back of 3rd place Detroit as well.
LOL it has been a rollercoaster season that's for sure. If they can make the playoffs, the way they have been playing lately, they have as much a chance as anyone for the SC.
A hot goalie.... plus momentum from the big push to make the post season, sometimes results in a very rewarding playoffs.

We got a shut-out on Saturday, guess the boys just needed a few days off. Passes looked a lot more crisp. Our newest rookie addition played a tough, smart game. What are the odds that we've ended up with three Swedish youngsters that all skate hard and have soft hands? Franson and jones are finally starting to mesh, and we put up some ridiculous shot totals. We looked like the team that was taking the world by storm.
Hopefully we start to heat up headed into the playoffs after that skid. Hopefully, when we get Wilson, Neal, and Volchenkov back, we'll be poised for a deep run.

Saturday was a good night. The Pens win, Boston loses, Philly loses. I didn't think the Pens would win in Phoenix after the quick early goal, but the freebie from Smith seemed to turn the game around.

The B's are skating on thin ice. The loss to Tampa hurt last night not only because it opens the door wider for the Sens to take the last playoff spot, but because the B's almost always beat Tampa (no matter how well Tampa has been or how poorly the B's have played) that ended last night - B's have no more juju on the Bolts and if the B's need to win the last game of the year - it will be against Tampa in Tampa.
Weird stuff continues to happen in B's games - Stamkos had his second fight of his career against Marchand (only his 5th, I would thought more); Rask got pulled, B's scored in the first minute of the game, then four unanswered.
This team has been so up-and-down it wouldn't surprise me if they reel off 3 wins in a row; but then again they could just as easily tank in the next 3.

It's been a while since the playoff race has seen things change so much from day to day.
A lot of it is positioning, not in or out--but still a lot of that too--as most teams still have a shot--even if it's a long one--only a few are done--if not mathematically, at least most likely.
