2014-2015 NHL Regular Season Thread

And, just looked again at the replay...

He pushed him from the goal line.
That's 11 feet from the boards.

Poor interpretation of the "intent to injure" a "defenseless player" aspect of rule 41.

Eight goals for the Pens? What the thunder did they have for breakfast Tuesday?

How about Ray Emery in Philly? He's on a nice little run. I think that is three starts in a row, included in that are big wins over the Pens and Kings. The Kings were on a six game winning streak when they arrived in Philly Tuesday night. Way to go Ray!!!

Total third period role reversal from the Rangers game, eh? The Bruins didn't let up until 00:00 on the clock.

-Mike

Yeah, it was a tough one. Still have the Power Play albatross though. For the life of me I can't figure out (nor can the Wild I guess) why with the players we have we can't get a PP goal with a pair of 5 minute majors in THE SAME GAME! Super frustrating.

Ahhhh, all good things come to an end, I guess. Kings had an awesome streak going on, but that OT loss to Philly was hard fought by both. Glad we got away with a point at least. Kings were missing Kopitar, Voynov, Lewis, and Gaborik. Yet they STILL managed to grab a point. Sweeeetttttttttt

TON of Habs fans in Vancouver...holy smokes. The fans are loud for both teams. Insane. Love it when it's like that. The only other one that comes up to mind is the Ducks-Kings series...then again...they're divided by a highway.

GAHHHHH stupid Pens.....

Marian Hossa with 1,000 career points. I like him. It feels so long ago when he was a Pen. I wish he still was.

I see Boston came back and won in OT, good for them. How does Buffalo leave Marchand standing there in front of the net so wide open?

My theory - at the end of the game, I imagine he might smell a bit funky.

It was a good game for Marchand - 2 goals and an assist. He needed to pick up his goalscoring, he only had 1 goal in his first 11 games - now he is back on track for 20+ goals. I had to work so I missed the game, but I understand that Joe Morrow who was part of the Tyler Seguin trade started and acquitted himself well. He's a good skater, which I also understand is a good skill to have for a hockey player. ;)

Regarding the Islanders, you jinxed them. They got beat Thursday night 5-0 and haven't won a game (granted they only played two) since your comment.

-Mike

Interesting but before I unleash the reverse jinx on the rest of the league, I checked the records after I said nice things about Vancouver, Montreal, and Calgary and not-so-nice things about Toronto.

Unfortunately for my B's, Montreal is jinx-resistant 2-1-1
The Western teams were mixed - Calgary stumbled 0-2 but Vancouver has gone 3-1
Toronto went 1-1; so they didn't get the bump they were hoping for on the double reverse jinx.

Another nice home win for the Wild. I believe still undefeated at home. A pair of power play goals and 3 of the 4 were the first goals this season for those players. Not a bad night.
