2014-2015 NHL Regular Season Thread

I got the Bruins in this one tonight, even though it is in Montreal. The Canadiens saw they got blown out Wednesday, and may assume the same tonight. This is when someone like McQuaid or Smith wins the game for the B's. In my perfect NHL world, I'd like to see Morrow get the game winner late in the second, and then Rask comes up huge in the third for a 1-0 Bruins win.

I like the way you think, but desire and character only get you so far, to compete with the better teams you need the horses as well. As much as I would love to see the Canadians assume a cakewalk and the B's steal a point - I don't see that happening.

The B's came out strong in Montreal and played fine in the first period emerging with a 1 goal lead. The wheels came off the bus in the second. The score of 5-1 is reflective of Montreal playing 60 minutes of good hard hockey and Boston playing 20 minutes. In this game, not only were the inexperienced D exposed, but Seidenberg and Hamilton had a bad night. They have a couple of games coming up that they should win in Columbus and Carolina but the rest of November and early December is: St. Louis, Montreal, Pittsburgh, Winnipeg, and a California road trip. The Bruins are 6-3 so far without Chara; but the next nine games could well be 2-7 or 3-6 unless they figure something out.

Toronto gets stuffed by BUFFALO
Anaheim faces the same fate against Florida.

Anaheim. ANAHEIM! How???? I know their goaltending situation isn't the best: 5 goalies rotating or something? Their offense and defense are definitely one of the league's deadliest, but if they had a strong netminder, this team would be much better than they are right now. Dang.

As for the Leafs, well.....the Leafs.

They do. I think Andersen's GAA is still right at 2. Gibson is good too but on the IR right now.

Kessel reportedly snapped at the reporters after the loss to Buffalo, saying "Get away from me".

I mean, if a player is that pissed off and upset, then you know something's wrong with the team. I have no idea what Reimer was doing when the second goal went in. Pretty much a giveaway to the other team.

Obviously, Toronto thought this was gonna be a cakewalk.

Habs have three great lines. If Sekach and Eller get going we will be unbeatable. Three really really good scoring lines. 15 goals in the last three games!!

Was watching some highlights of Habs game last night, the Toronto media talking heads are talking about how the Canadiens are last in the league in third period goals in away games and some other incredibly obscure stat. Their success is absolutely painful to the Leaf fans.

They are last or close to last in powerplays too. It just means that they are scoring a bunch of goals other times and not giving up many.

Fokof - are people genuinely surprised about the success that Montreal is experiencing - no one is surprised in Boston (but it still is pretty painful). I'm seeing more grit and maturity added to a team that already had a ton of speed and skill.

Too early to say, but if Montreal keeps this up until April, they'll be one tough cookie to crack in the playoffs. Them and New York. I don't know what's going on with Boston these days.
