The BTB845 is the same price as the BTB33, so it makes sense that the revised BTB33 would come in a BTB845 model. I would have preferred the Deep Twilight color shown on the BTB845, sadly.

sorry that I couldn't see clear any pictures of the 845V/846V center block, even in between the fretboard and the neck pickup. Don't know might be just the picture or could be the center is also being given dark finish of the Antique Brown stained Low gloss.

I guess these are a reissue of the Affirma basses from the 90s. Seems like they were sort of the predecessor of the BTBs.

Just looked those up, since they date from well before I began playing. Those are pretty cool. I really like the body shape, and the position of the lower strap button should help keep the reach low. I'm not a fan of the headstock shape, but I could learn to live with it. I wonder what the spacing on the 5-string will be and if it will come with the adjustable-spacing bridges.

I really hope the new fanned fret basses are more...fanned. I'd also love a btb or atk fanned fret bass, btb being the obvious choice.

I'll take any update to the ATK, seems their time is fading. Talmans will have there day as the lead vintage bass, then the ATK will be back! Maybe give the musician a turn, too.

Someone made a comment on a need or at least opportunity for an Iron Label bass line. The best bass for metal is still an open debate...dark colors, humbuckers, longer scale 4 strings...easy for them to pull off.

In case you haven't noticed of my earlier post, Ibanez have decided upon the new SR fanned fret basses, which they prefer to call them now as SR Multi Scale (SRMS) series, to have the same scales as previous (SRFF) series.

I do own the SRFF806 and I've been considering getting the 5 string also. I don't have any desire of longer scale than what Ibanez have offered. So, I might get the new SRMS805-BTT or SRMS805-DTW if it becomes available in my region. The new adjustable saddle for string spacing of the Mono Rail 5s bridge is enough plus point for me to consider getting the new one (instead of the SRFF805).

Hadn't seen that...that's a bummer for me, honestly. I love Ibanez, I own 4, but the bass fanned frets just don't do it for me. .5 over my BTB doesn't move the needle enough, I'd prefer at least 36" on my bottom string. I haven't had the chance to play a Dingwall, but even a junky Bryce in GC with a 37" B was seriously enlightening.

Absolutely.

I wouldn't mind seeing a few more SR models with the standard Bart system, but with an Ash body (SR600) or spalted maple, but maybe with a clear - two color blend (not a burst). Ash is fairly light, and has some nice wood grain patterns. Black mono's might be a nice addition, but I'm good with the older B series bridges, and 250/600 mid freq switch. I prefer the Bart systems better than the Nord's because my effects didn't sound very good through the Prestige, and I don't know why.

For the win >>> Ibanez custom shop!

on the specs, SRFF low B is said to have 35.5" scale. But when I measured my SRFF806, the low B actually had scale length which longer than that. I forgot the exact number, IIRC it almost reached 36".
