After accepting that there was no suitable substitute, I ordered a 3015LF off eBay from an auction that was mentioned earlier in this thread. So I scored one at the old price!
I installed it in my Carvin 1503 today.
Prior to this, I had replaced the crossover with a 2nd order Linkwitz-Reily with parts and values obtained from Erse Audio.
Before testing, I used my dB meter to measure output at 40 Hz with all amp controls flat -- with the input pad engaged and the drive and volume straight up, I got 96 dB.
With the 3015LF installed, I got between 100 and 101dB -- so a 4-5 dB gain on the fundamental.
Seems worthwhile to me!
