< 30lbs cab recommendations for lightweight rig

Wow, 40 posts and only six actually suggest cabs that meet the OP's goals, a 210 or 112 that is under 30 pounds and $400 or less (max $450). And that's counting a few (Hartke Hydrive and Eden Ex112) that just barely exceed 30 pounds. I know everyone has a favorite cab but what about actually trying to answer the OP's question?

Because there really isn't much that meets all of OP's wants - we're trying to come as close as we can. Light, cheap, good sounding, and powerful ain't easy.

Very satisfied owner of a pair of AV210s.

Aside from the whole "won't sit under the kick drum in the mix" thing (what single 2-10 will?), I can't imagine this not working extremely well for the OP.

Note that I've owned one cab for two years and only recently purchased a second one. I've never used two cabs at a gig.

Rarely do I say no to Barefaced, but not with this OP buget. A One10 could be had and it might do most of the trick, but I'm not 100% sure in this case.

Best bang for the buck would be the G-K NEO112 II. 30lbs and street before any discount of $449. You would have to go expensive boutique to beat the sound and actual volume output per watt. It will also survive long after the 210AV (a MEDIUM duty lower power handling cab) has crapped it's pants.

You can sometimes find used Epifani UL 112 cabs under $400. I have a UL 110 that sounds wonderful and is really light and easy to tote. The new ones are pricey.

I need to put my Rumble 210 on the scale, I know the specifications say 39 pounds butt they also say 36 pounds for the rumble 500 combo and the 210 is easily five or six pounds lighter than the 500 combo.

I know that it makes no sense for the Rumble 210 cab to weigh more than the 500C, but I was told they are made in 2 different factories, using different wood.

Thanks for the heads up on the price drop from Sam Ash. I have been looking for a nice light cab for my rehearsal space, and this one seems to get rave reviews.

I just got one from Zzounds and they beat the $279 PLUS gave me the 4 payment plan. SWEET!

While true, I own both, the cab is definately lighter than the combo. I have never put them on a scale though. Specs be darned, experience, and my messed up back tells me at least MY Rumble 210 cab is lighter than my Rumble 500 Combo...

People keep saying the GK 112 is 30lbs. It is not. They list 35lbs on GKs website. I'm pretty sure the older versions listed at 37, as that's what it was listed at when I bought mine. I'll be happy to weigh it for you. It is also much bulkier than something like the EX112.

You must play the GK before buying, the voice is completely different. The tweeter in that cab is not for everyone, and it can't be completely shut off.

... very true ... the caveat, is that they are completely different sounding cabs ... and the OP has expressed a happiness with a 210AV in the past, so as mentioned somewhere above, that difference needs to be at least a consideration ...

.. the other caveat, is that I have purchased two of the 210AV's used (twice) for less money than the GK Neo112 II that I purchased new ... and when you compare the two 210AV's to the GK Neo, no longer a clear winner in the soiled shorts department ...

.. might come down to preferrence of sealed cab response vs deeper vented with a tweet ...

Is building your own an option? I know of at least one killer 112 cab design that comes in under 20 pounds.
