I love the Doom 2...original was great too, but I'm a big fan so far.
It's more likely to be your power situation than your cabling.
I use the EBS flats, and they're fine.

Hey guys I received my Proton last week and Couldn't be happier. I have a few filters and this one gets the board. The range switch is what's really different from last one from what I'm told. Toggle down gets chunkier, think Mr Blacks Fwonkbeta deep. All in all it goes perfectly with the Octabvre

Having tried the Chromatron as well, it seems like this Proton is more of a no grills chromatron vs a re-issue in a new box?
Just added the Octabvre to my board! It's hands-down my favorite octaver.
That board is not a piece of crap.
So, I'm getting antsy to pull the trigger on an OC-2 because I'm not sure I can justify the difference in that and an Octabvre mini. Used minis aren't coming up that often.
