It most certainly does, and it's not isolated to us pedal-fanatics. I recently walked away from a new vehicle purchase because the dealer wanted an extra $10,000 on top of the MSRP and destination charge for a vehicle they were selling for just over $40,000. Effectively a 25% markup. He explained that it was due to vehicle scarcity and was what they (a massive dealership with a huge inventory) had to do to "keep the lights on."

Proton V4 is a good pedal. I'm almost kinda bummed that I sold mine. The only reason I did so was because I had the Chromatron as well, and I was almost on the side of selling the Chroma before I unlocked the usefulness of the fx loop and the expression switch.

Honestly, I feel like Spencer would be well off to hire a few support staff to help with his operations. I doubt any of us would view his products as lesser quality if he had a bit of help. Plus with the demand that his pedals command, if he could pump more products out, he would likely make a very nice profit.
Granted, I know part of the delays currently are lack of supplies/components for the pedals.

I get both sides. Regardless, the para eq is something I would have gassed hard for at one time. Seems like a really useful utility.
Grabbing things off the shelf and knob twisting is fun for sure, but playing time is limited and reefing out by knob twiddling is one thing that usually keeps me from actually writing music.

I'm guessing @jbybj meant--in a tongue-in-cheek sort of way--that your well-meaning suggestion is easier in theory than in practice...? Perhaps Spencer already considered hiring staff (maybe even did so for a time), and found that it just wasn't a strategy that suited him. It's well known that one of his former business collaborations didn't end well; and perhaps that has led him to keeping a more low-key business model.
This is definitely a reply that landed in the wrong thread...but I feel you. It really all depends on what your goals are. If you are looking to write a ton of material...one could argue that pedals themselves are a distraction to your goals.
We really don't know much about what's going on with 3Leaf and/or Spencer other than the few anecdotal accounts in this thread (maybe he posted something on his site at one point too?) that the past 18+ months have been hard on him just like most of the world. There are also some stories of people not getting the level of customer service they expect and some unfulfilled promises that are getting very old.
Needless to say, adding in staff that you are responsible for leading, paying, etc sounds like a pretty poor idea. Just because there is money to be made doesn't mean that action will happen. If you really stop to think about it, it would probably serve Spencer best to build up a few boxes and have a friend list them on ebay or reverb for the current market rate.
Well that's funny... I don't think I've quite seen that happen yet. It's funny enough that I'm in both threads in question.

There was a big thing with him and Darkglass a long time ago that hopefully won't get rehashed now --- but you can use the search and find out or look at his website and notice the vulcan drive from pike amplification.
Yep. About a month after I got the Proton v4 I realized that I probably should've went for the Chromatron. I'd still like to get one... But for now, placing the Proton in the fx loop of the HXStomp works great. (Same thing I do with the Micro-Tron III). Convenient and gives routing options when using it with different delays, reverbs, dirt, etc. It allows you to split the signal path, mix them in parallel, and/or assign effects to EXP pedal
