But in all seriousness, if I select a "New" pedal, what am I getting? he's stated that all stock has been effected, as they all have the same enclosures, and all have paint issues, with things missing or the possiblity of coming off later, all of these are described as "B-Stock", what does selecting "New" do, aside from take more money out of my bank account

My only guess would be there isn't an issue, yet, with the new ones

I even noticed on the Proton there isn't a price difference on the Bstock and New..

i.e. not Proton.

Also:

The only thing that has me scratching my head is if I can spray it with a clear coat to save the finish, couldn’t 3 leaf have done that too? They didn’t, why not? Prob a bad idea. I don’t really let go of pedals much anymore so I am cool if there’s some cleanly applied packing tape. Might go that route. I don’t expect to see the new finish any time soon. If/when that happens can always reach out and ask to buy an empty enclosure or reach out to someone who does etching and get something made? If you are on the fence, I would make a move. There’s already people asking for Doom2s so it is probably a safe buy to try out and if you hate it can probably get your money back selling it or close to your money back.

neither. When he sent out the replacement case, I asked if he wanted the old one. He said he didn't need it.

Tried but couldn't and purchased a Proton, curious how it'll compare with my other filters. Expecting it to behave closer to a Wonderlove than a IE XD, but if it can also make some synth swoosh, might be a winner.

As for lettering, it went 'bad' on my former Doom2 after a few hours of use. It's like these pots on which welding material just doesn't adhere. Could've lived with it as it's a great pedal, snagged an other Doom2 which doesn't have this ink issue instead.

I think it’s a matter of the black oxide surface treatment being incompatible with whatever process is used to apply the graphics. I think that these pedals are awesome and the rust/lettering falling off will be considered part of the charm of this era of 3Leaf once the finish issues get resolved.

Am I the only who doesn’t mind the aesthetic degradation of these pedals? It’s like the old Sovtek Green Russians - it’s cool that they’re a little jangly looking. And given that they’ve(Dooms and MKIIIs)been impossible to come by for a hot minute, I’m just appreciative that they’re available again.

Reach out to any number of pedal etchers and they can etch you one for a good sum of money.

That's the entire reason for the New and B Stock labeling, if you bought one earlier he mentioned replacing the old case with the new one, same insides.

You want it engraved let me know, fiber laser would look pretty good on that case, cerakote would look nice as well
