My Octabvre was just delivered to my mailbox but I'm stuck on a Teams call for work. So close and yet so far!
It’s here! All the lettering looks great but we’ll see how well it holds up.
Wow, it looks perfect! Are you going to do anything to preserve the lettering? I've been thinking about it since they went on sale. Maybe take out the guts and spray it with a clear coat? Maybe even clear coat of nail polish??? I expect the letters to fall off and if it comes in good shape I really want to do something to preserve it.
Hahah, speaking of which...my plus one for 12/30 backed out yesterday - wanna go? I have a low row in the 200s about mid court.
I would but allegedly I'm playing a late night at the bowery electric on 12/30 post phish! We're called JAM OF THRONES, its dead phish and biscuits covers mashed up like biscuits setlists with unexpected inversions and sandwiches

Meh. It's not a museum piece. Put that bad mama-jama on your board, stomp on it, get it dirty, knock the lettering off. It adds character...
I'm curious if velcro sticks without issues on the back of the pedal (if you use velcro that is). Some reported they had to clean off the oily feel of the pedal with some alcohol in order for the velcro adhesive to stick. Does it feel oily?
The enclosure doesn’t feel oily. I haven’t put velcro on yet as I’m still trying to see if the footswitch spacing works and to confirm that the tracking is comparable to my MKI. If it doesn’t work I want to sell it in new B-stock condition without velcro. Mine is due to arrive tomorrow. Since I live in -20ºC weather, I opted for it to get sent to one of DHLs collection places so it wont be sitting outside in the bitter cold.
I noticed, even in the light, the screen/UV print is hard to see, you soon learn exactly where the knobs need to be and what does what, with your eyes closed. So glad the pots are slow movers and stay put though. It's probably the most robust pedal design I've had, and it just works, well, every time.
Its robustness doesn't play well with others though, physically (signal wise, its silent) the case will scratch softer coated neighboring pedals with is edges, so just give her some room to breath if you don't like scratches.

Hard to tell in the photo but the Doom is already losing letters. Part of the "F" on leaf and the "A" from Audio is already gone and around the stomp switch there is some fading in a circle as if tightening the bolt affected the lettering.
The Octabvre looks mint.
There is definitely some oiliness to the pedals. I also want to try to protect what I can while it is in good shape. I'm evaluating my options, but thinking I may use a clear coat nail polish since I can carefully paint it on without having to take apart the entire pedal to treat it. I'm thinking I'll just paint over the lettering to hopefully preserve it...I just can't tell if that will work as of yet. I don't want to put a coating over it that will exacerbate the problem either, but wow...they sound incredible!!!

Got my Octabvre in today, as far as I can tell it is mint. There is a bit of what looks like oil around the LEDs but that might be the condensation from the cold. Hard to tell.
I’d test a small area on the back of the pedal or something first. I don’t fully understand what finishing these have but I’d be concerned about adhesion
I'm not a gambling man, but ordering one of these pedals and wondering what condition it will arrive in sure makes me feel like one.
