3Leaf Audio Club - Episode 2

Now I have to decide whether I need a Doom2. I let the last one go but I kind of miss it. It just punched differently than the other fuzzes I have.

Octabvre MKIII is still one of my favorite pedals, even if I don't use it often enough.

Edited to add copy from the Doom2 page:
There is a new HIGH GAIN MOD available as an option when ordering. This evolved out of requests to make a guitar version of the DOOM 2. This mod uses a 1M gain pot for 10x the gain of the standard circuit. The crossover frequency and resonance are modified, as is the midrange frequency, and the range of the treble control. It really screams on both guitar and bass. I still recommend the standard tuning if you're into low gain synth bass type stuff.

I've got an Octabvre Mini and a You're Doom, and I'm 100% tapped out on pedal funds after getting an Oracle and trading plus cash for a Chromatron. I'm perfectly happy with these pedals but I love the new finish. Hopefully this means 3Leaf is back for real and I'll be able to get them later. Even just extra stuff in circulation helps.

Good luck Friday, folks.

Now I have to decide whether I need a Doom2.

I do regret letting my You're Doom go and never getting around to getting a Doom 2. And while I've got more dirt options than I'd ever need in my Stomp, I've been exploring synth bass for a while now and this seems uniquely synthy enough to make it worth getting.

I do admit to being a little hesitant to order, based on previous discussion in this thread about lack of communication from Spencer. This also makes it sound like the preorder is limited in number?

I had no issues last time he had a sale a few months back. No communication other than tracking number, but it showed up on time. He's a recluse, not a scammer--I certainly wouldn't hesitate ordering from him again.

Good to know. I took another one of my occasional breaks from Talkbass, so wasn't quite in the know and haven't gone back to scour threads. I also didn't know that Taylor has moved to a similar preorder system for Iron Ether, and I apparently missed out on an FMeron preorder by only a few weeks. :(

I am a little confused, if I ordered something on the 27th, holiday passes, package ships, is that a "pre" sale? Looks to be a typical sale, I'm getting over the lengthy presales lately

Guessing that's just people/builders trying to get ahead of that "I just ordered last night and don't have tracking info", etc...

Pre-orders suck... especially with builders who have a reputation for making people wait. However it does say a shipping time frame which is promising.

I'll always take a preorder over a random product drop... At least with a preorder we have a little advance notice and everyone has a chance of getting one because we know when it's going live, rather than a random drop at a random time. It's pretty disappointing when you see a post about an item you've been following/wanting/waiting for for a while, only to see you're too late to the party and said item is already sold out because there was no announcement and the post was from a day ago (or even just hours). Before the site update today, I was also beginning to wonder if I had already missed out on this batch of Dooms.

And I guess to echo what @Grahams Groove said, the first week of June is really only a week(ish) away. With such a short preorder timeframe, it'd be fairly surprising if he doesn't have these built already and the "preorder" is just a way of giving himself a little extra breathing room for shipping...?
