3Leaf Audio Club - Episode 2

The long term goal is not ALWAYS to grow as big as possible, to be as efficient as possible, to make as profit as possible.

What if he just enjoys doing it himself and being involved in every part of the production ? Of course, that would imply he can't produce 100 000 units. But is producing that much the goal after all ?
I don't think so.
This guy gets it!

Exactly this. I have seen so many small business owners grow because they think that is what is expected of them, but they were miserable after a point. They then leave and go back to the small operation that makes them happy and pushes their passion for the product. There seems to be this notion in some countries that the only way to be successful is to keep growing, and be a mega corporation. But in reality everyone has a different metric for success, and for some it is operating at a level that simply makes them happy.

I look at it like someone who is passionate about music, working 9-5 in a music store, then coming home and not wanting to touch music. You can replace music with many other things, chocolate, computer games, etc. Love the product, work in it full time, don't have the same level of passion for it in your down time.

I work in the craft beer world, where scaling up and rapid growth has worked for some but killed many more businesses and beer passions.

I’m fortunate to live in Vermont and work with a few of the top producers in the industry. I love seeing amazing breweries who have dialed in business models based on sustainability rather than endless growth. The passion is still there and they know every drop they produce will likely be consumed rather shortly after it gets canned, bottles, or kegged.

There are of course happy exceptions out there, but I respect doing things your own way and having it work for you. Spencer seems to value a work life balance and a fully hands on approach, which I applaud.

Younger sibling trifecta in full effect!! You're Doom is latest addition, been a long time user of the Mini Octabvre and Proton V3. Loving everything about it!

Btw, settings here are messed up since they were either stored separately or on different boards.

New Update on the main page:

8/7 - SALE DEBRIEF

Thank you to everyone who participated in the sale. It was over in about a minute, which I still think is too fast, but a lot of people have been waiting for these so I understand. Orders will ship in the next 2 weeks.

I made a mistake with the way I wrote the time zone. I’ve always called it PST as a result of this sale I learned that it’s called PDT when daylight savings is in effect. I’ll never understand why we change the clock rather than have summer and winter hours for businesses. In case of confusion, all sales are in SEATTLE TIME.

I might have inadvertently disabled APPLE PAY when I was messing with checkout settings after the last release. I’m curious what people think about that. I’m still seeing a low proportion of international orders, so expect an international-only release at some point in the future.

AUGUST - DOOM 2

SEPTEMBER - OCTABVRE

OCTOBER - PROTON

Aha, so the disabling of Apple Pay was not deliberate apparently.

1 more try for doom 2 lmao

Someone can (and will, I expect) correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Spencer mentioned there would be two more Doom releases of 100 each. August and probably November, since it looks like he's rotating through the releases.

I seem to remember he mentioned there would be 300 of each pedal...?

5sg.

This is correct, 3 drops of each 3 pedal staggered for the next 9-10 months, pending supply of course (although I bet he has everything to build, it's probably the enclosure that's the bottle neck)
