I need to find the pics, but when I was exploring Providence, I saw some pedals that looked identical to the Pike lineup. Then in a interview he mentioned the brand as well. I'll have to dig through some pages, but I think that's where I saw the 2 piece steel frame made.

I think Apple Pay should remain, not everyone has PayPal either. PayPal isn't always great jumping around pop up windows, getting security codes and so on. Sure you can reduce your Paypal security, but thats not always a great move. I find with international orders, I have PayPal with 2 factor security as well as set to my PO BOX, which won't be deliverable to with international orders - so lots of mucking about for one purchase.

If you want a truly level playing field remove all of them and have everyone enter all their details manually.

Good natured ribbing aside, you're correct of course. You can sign into Paypal a bit early, but at least it still requires one to go through the actual cart process. But Apple Pay just seems like an unfair advantage... I believe you only have to click the "Buy with Apple Pay" button, scan your fingerprint and it skips everything else? Seems like cutting in line.

All the usual Talkbass disclaimers apply: YMMV, just my thinking on the matter, etc etc.

Thumbprint?! That's old school Apple Pay. :p Now you just look at your phone, it recognizes your Face ID and it all goes through. I use it for everything. I don't even bother bringing my wallet to the grocery store anymore.

Sounds like you have PayPal? :) I have both. :) However, I did manage to get a Proton by typing everything in manually and I didn't use PayPal. When ApplePay wasn't there, I went with my backup which was my credit card sitting there. PayPal does have pro's and cons, so does ApplePay and others.

I actually only use ApplePay as a card-less option when i'm out and about, I basically never use it online, so I just tap my phone when paying. NFT payments are everywhere in Australia and have been for years (Maybe 5-10 years or so for tap-n-go NFT credit cards).

But realistically, the only fair level playing field is get everyone to enter everything each time. :). But I can type at over 100wpm.. so there's an unfair advantage now to fast typer vs slow typer... and also internet speed, here in Australia sometimes things go slow and we have more lag and hops to get to the same website.. unfair advantage to the USA. :). We can go on like this forever. :). Especially for those people with an extra finger or two, but you eventually get into Zaphod Beeblebrox territory. :)

I do have PayPal, but I haven't used it in quite a while. I also entered info manually, and managed to snag a Proton.

PayPal is not required, I paid by entering my credit card details. By the way, since at checkout the PayPal option appeared only after entering email, address, etc. (correct me if I'm wrong) I'd say it doesn't provide much speed advantage.

I too think it's slightly more fair to keep Apple Pay disabled. I actually went through the hassle of a macOS update just to set up Apple Pay for the Proton drop because I felt it was the only way, but was happy to not see the option.

edit: of course, Spencer does as he wishes. Just sharing my opinion here in case he reads this thread in search of user feedback.

I agree 100%. If one needs a apple product to obtain a 3leaf, that's something I just won't do.

Apple pay is MUCH faster. Since they sell out in a minute, having the ability to check out in 15 seconds is an unfair advantage.

But well, again, I am not convinced we should debate every single decision made by 3 Leaf here.

If Apple Pay is allowed, then get the help of an Apple user or just practice auto filling information as fast as you can once the shop is back online.

Instead of debating every single decision taken by 3 Leaf, are you guys enjoying your pedals ? Any 3 Leaf addition to your board lately ? Any addition you'd like to share ?
