3Leaf Audio Club - Episode 2

Yeah, that comment basically tells me he's read the majority of this (unless he caught a wave of emails) thread, and is still ok with it - nothing sold faster, in what illogical world can you compare this sale to anything from the past? Really?! These sales are slipping more and more into some wierd la la land. What I hear is -

"SUCCESS! LOGIC BE DAMNED!"

maybe there's some ill advise in his ear. All I can say, he's never done things like this before and has been plenty successful

I thought the "complainers in shambles" comment was a jab of the sort my dad would give me if I was whining about something relatively inconsequential. Spencer is an odd duck but I like the guy and love his pedals.
I cannot point a finger at anyone. Especially if i cant find my glasses.

I've put way too much thought into this, but if Spencer is upset that flippers are making more money off a pedal than he is, his angst is misplaced. He is not supplying the demand in the market for his pedals, so demand higher than supply, classic Economics 101 case of price inflation.

But he’s supplying what he can. If he charged what the market is willing to pay, people would still be mad.

What he can. Or (more likely) what he wants to. Either is fine; it's his business and his life. But once again: the last 15 pages of this thread have not focused on price. They have been critical of the unwanted bundle and the language used to communicate. @RichSnyder is mistaken about Spencer being "upset that flippers are making more money off a pedal than he is." I mean, that may be true, but it's not how Spencer justified his approach to this past release. He explicitly states his concern is over the speed of the Doom 2 and Proton drops: "To avoid the release selling out in 10 seconds, I am trying out a new ordering system. It's called: you buy my preamp."

My post was neither lazy nor a cop-out. The only thing I objectively disagreed with was the assertion that Spencer is a bad person. If you don’t know him you can’t make that assessment. Everything else was my opinion and a recounting of what I’ve observed behaviorally in this thread. If expressing opinion is a lazy cop-out then TB might as well be shut down as expression of opinion is 99% of its content.

Conversely, pointing at someone’s post and dismissing it because it disagrees with your opinion is actually a cop-out and lazy.
Thanks cup

I’ve owned all of his pedals. The only ones that sticks out as above average for me are the Octabvre and the Groove Regulator and GR2. If I wanted an envelope filter I’d grab a Josh wah well before I’d pick up one of his designs. He’s in a no win situation with inventory but this whole bundling thing was hilarious.

Still waiting for the JoshWah Deluxe. My only complaint with the current JoshWah is that you cant change the direction of the sweep.

It's funny, I was just thinking today about the JoshWah's lack of a sweep direction switch (it would definitely be a nice addition). There's a lot I like about the Groove Regulator, and I had both that and the JoshWah on my pedalboard for a number of years. But when I decided to downsize my 'board the one that stayed was the JoshWah. Anyway, it's unfortunate to see Spencer come off as someone who sneers at his clientele.
