Hmm, just got this via email, apparently the high gain mod also changes the mids on the pedal even after the revoicing:
"I developed the high gain mod for guitar players but I really like it on bass too. It will kick the muff off your board but the synthy thing isn't quite the same because the mod cuts a lot of low mids. The fat low mids is what gives the standard version a lot of that synthy character. High gain has more of an edge to it because it's more focused on the upper mids. You'd probably be happy with either version."
Now I'm conflicted, since the main reason I want the pedal is for the synthy sounds it's apparently the GOAT at, and it'd be a bummer if I did the HG mod and it's not quite as great, and I somehow prefer the Russian green muff for high gain (which is what I'd want to kick off the board if going the HG route, and I run the sustain and tone maxed)
Can anyone that has used the revoiced doom 2 in both standard and high gain form please chime in? As you can see from my last post, I was mistaken in thinking it was just higher gain after the revoice, so now both
stenomattia and I would like to know more heh
