So bummed! I've been waiting for months for January Doom 2 release.
I can wait 2 more months! Hoping i get in on time.
Looks like someone is selling one in the Classifieds for right around what you’d pay from 3Leaf, if you’re not wanting to wait. But I’m guessing you already saw that.

The very long, muddy story short...Hmm, what imitators was he distracted by?
- 3Leaf dude (Spencer) used to build/lay out some of the Darkglass pedals state-side. (When DG was still small...)
- There was apparently some friction/disagreements and that relationship ended.
- In the process, 3Leaf sold some Darkglass prototype stuff. (This may refer to the Pike Vulcan pedals and/or preamps. The Pike stuff was Darkglass-esque dirt circuits in what were very clearly Darkglass b3k/b7k enclosures.)
- There were some public comments (disputes?) between the Darkglass & 3Leaf owners.
- Darkglass recently released a Mood2 fuzz block on their Anagram platform, which is clearly their take on the 3Leaf Doom 2.
- Here we are...
Mine has shipped now as well. Supposedly going to be here on Friday. I may avoid this thread or maybe even talkbass all together until I see what the surprise is...ha

Makes sense. Hopefully that was a fairly objective summary on my part. I feel like this gets dragged up (down?) every once in a while, and there have been strong opinions on both sides of the coin from both the company owners and stans of their respective pedals. They both make excellent devices and they've both utilized each others' IP in ways that are likely to draw strong opinions. I own stuff from both companies, and I'm happy with those products. Glad they're both putting cool creations into the world, even if they occasionally jab at and irritate one another...Yup, I know all about it. Just wanted to double check with you guys here. I was being a bit facetious I guess.
FWIW and from what I understand, you can copy-write (trademark? I get them confused...) code but not a schematic. I think it's likely that Darkglass' Mood2 has more protections than Spencer'd Doom2.
