3Leaf Audio Club - Episode 2

Just had to chime in that folks' comments about the versatility and musicality of 3leaf pedals apply 200% to the You're Doom. I've mainly used it to get a stanky, "spitty" tone right up "Boogie On Reggae Woman" alley, but have lately been (re)discovering the Shape and Tone controls, which let you dial in subtler/darker/warmer tones. Along with the ability to independently mix the clean and fuzz signals with Vol and Mix, work the tone knob on the bass, vary technique like palm mute, and combo with an OC-2 (or the upcoming 3leaf octaver!!!), there's just tons of permutations available.

(The only control I haven't yet been able to use is the Gain. I mostly stay in low-gain territory and find that higher levels get kind of "over-saturated" and hard to handle for my certain taste and musical style. But even if I don't end up discovering functionality there, I'm still GOLDEN!)

I've found a good match to the synth on Ice, Ice, Baby and on hysteria with the gain at 3 and the tone at 9, shape switch down, mix at 10

Low gain fully CCW and tone fully CW gives an overdriven SVT-esque sound

I've been on the watch for something that can get me to the Chaka Khan "Ain't Nobody" neighborhood for a while now, which I think I read in this thread that it's also capable of. My funk band has Boogie On Reggae Woman queued up as a song to add in the immediate future, so knowing that the You're Doom can also even come close to that sound is pretty hip. I've been teetering on the edge of pulling the trigger on a YD for a while now, but am currently waiting to see what Spencer has up his sleeve with the Rusty Leaf.

Finally become an owner ! White Proton is a killer. Great in tracking my fingering. The decay knob is a must for slapping. Thanks Spencer, great work! Look forward to the compressor in the future. I am using a DECL from FEA lab but I need a compact one.

Just got my white proton today! Pretty cool so far! Nice synthy sound with You're Doom, and sounds great by itself. I am completely new to envelope filters, so it is taking a bit of time to wrap my head around how the controls interact with each other.

Hope this isn't to much of a derail, but, can anyone recommend some good funky or synthy songs to learn? I like a wide variety of music, such as The Ruse, The Killers, Daft Punk, Mobile, Incubus, Michael Jackson, Muse, Karnivool, Alter Bridge, Rammstein, Kamelot, The White Stripes, etc. I want to expand my horizons and get find some funkier bands too.
