400w cab into a 500w head?

Heya guys I am after a reasonably priced 212 cab for my Orange OB1 500 Head.

The Tc electronic K 212 looks about what I want bit its power handling is only 400w.

What kinda damage would I do if it run these together?

Keep volume, gain, and bass knobs low enough and listen out for any distress in the speakers and you'll be fine. Start cranking up the lows and blasting the volume and you can damage it for sure. Then again, doing that could damage an 800 watt cab as well.

You'll be fine if you don't push it too hard and listen out.

What kinda damage would I do if it run these together?

The TC Electronic K-212 cab is 8 ohms and the head outputs like 300 or so watts into 8 ohms, so no damage. Always be careful with the volume and gain knobs though.

Watch your bass and volume controls.. should be no problem . I'm running 600 watts into a 300 cab.

You can use a 1000 watt amp with a 100 watt speaker, just don't turn it up all the way. It's kind of like asking if you can drive in a 30MPH speed limit zone when your car can hit 120. Sure you can, just as long as you don't keep the pedal on the metal.
